With respect to why he chose two Native women, I think the answer is that they were available and vulnerable. The number of missing and murdered indigenous women in Canada is staggering. I'm thinking the same problem exists in Alaska. The cycle of poverty, substance abuse, physical and sexual abuse puts these women in extremely vulnerable and risky situations.

When I first heard about this, I knew immediately it was going to be an indigenous woman. I don't think it's a racist thing but I could be wrong. I think it was just plain easy based on the reasons mentioned above.

Her feelings about her husband are definitely changing. I think her initial reaction was simply shock and disbelief. I can't imagine being in her situation, the horror of living with a monster and having no idea. . . IMO

So, I absolutely agree with you about the marginalization of Alaska Native and other indigenous women making them especially vulnerable and at-risk to predators. That's a continent-wide, serious problem, and you articulated it well. And I do think it was a huge factor here.

Originally, I thought we might wait to see the race of victims identified in the future before deciding if personal racism was BSS' motive, or if he chose these women because they are extremely marginalized and he thought that would enable him to get away with it (much like previous SK have targeted women who have been involved in prostitution or had narcotic use disorder or were living on the streets, etc.)

However, after reading about BSS' racist FaceBook comment on Heavy.com, plus the multiple extremely racist Quora.com comments @Curious Me was so good as to post, MOO is that personal racism was absolutely a factor in addition to the opportunity factor.

Yea that article is a week old so I'm sure things have changed dramatically for her. She's probably speaking to a lawyer hopefully and sending over the divorce papers. Getting her name changed. Putting the house up for sale...

I'm so sad to hear it is that bad. And here he lived in this nice house and had so many tech toys and traveled with his trusting, loving wife. It seems he sees a division in people and politics I may not understand.

In a murder case are LE allowed to search the whole house even though it belongs to his wife?

There's got to be a slew of technical evidence and there might be some DNA evidence in that house. His wife seems like a person that might keep detailed calendars for a timeline. His postings on those links posted above will fill out his mindset some.

Just my opinion, I think his wife will cooperate with LE and agree to a whole house search even if she's the only owner. I don't see her still standing by her killer-of-women husband. Once the initial shock eases up, she's going to want to divorce herself from any involvement in his crimes, and divorce him too. I hope she can supply LE with helpful information to determine if there were other killings.

she was very beautiful and sounded like she had a lot of deep thoughts that she was struggling to capture effectively in limited English. Her friends said she had a big heart and it’s a shame we couldn’t protect her from these psychotic killers that prey on the vulnerable. I’m hoping this at least helps bring out the need to keep closer contact with people on the streets so things are noticeable and people like him don’t freely operate.

I don’t think he will live long in prison and it’s not because of some death penalty.

This is just my opinion of BSS so far. He seems very opinionated and racist to me. He apparently was brought up in a violent, divided, political environment. I don't understand what his wife found attractive about him. I wonder if they had much in common especially politically. She performed music with a lot of mellow looking people. BSS seems far from mellow or fun.
