His poor wife thought he was a good husband? She may have wondered if he'd been with someone else while they were married, but she probably never imagined he'd been having sex with a corpse then coming home to her.

Shot one woman, beat and stomped another woman to death. I wonder if he made a video of the one found shot. I agree with all of you here, there's probably more.

Got a feeling this is going to be hard and confusing to follow. He may have traveled and killed like Israel Keyes.

I've followed true crime stories to some extent through the years, but I never thought about the association between serial killers and necrophilia. It's just

Hate of women, but something more and not that simple? No fear of rejection when they're dead? It's also strange that LE would know about it. I doubt there was DNA from semen after all that time. How do they know? Did he confess to that too?

Plus, it's only a misdemeanor charge of misconduct. To me it seems more like a rape charge even though the person is dead; it's as though the person was unconscious or didn't give permission.

The trial I'm following had some graphic images of the victim's head injuries yesterday. I can't forget what I saw.

LE has to watch KH being beaten, trying to, but barely, defend herself while he...
I've covered a lot of cases, so I think I'm tough, but I find even the descriptions can stay with you.

Some aspects of the case don't make much sense to her. Among them, why did a memory card get found the day they left for vacation? Also curious to her, she said, is the labeling on the SD card - "homicide at midtown Marriott."

I was just thinking that and hoping that maybe since it was literally labeled with the word "homicide," the person just gave it directly to the local PD without watching it first. Still would be awful for the cops, but they would have had to watch it one way or another and they have training to process the horrific things they are exposed to. One less traumatized person. God, I hope they just turned it directly in. That would mess you up for life.

I almost wonder if this guy wanted someone to see this, like that Canadian guy who changed his name to something really dramatic and filmed himself killing his boyfriend and desecrating the corpse... name escaping me but it was about a decade ago I think? Anyway labeling a SD card “Homicide at midtown Marriott” and dropping it in the street seems awfully careless.

Here's the heavy.com article. They uncovered some extremely racist social media from the guy as well as some background biographical info. Wonder what the victim's race was?

He supposedly worked there but that’s just what the wife said not actually confirmed by the Marriott or police. He stayed where he worked for a few night while him and his wife were taking some time apart. Yes TownePlace suites is a Marriott.

it was turned in while they were on a plane to Virginia. I don’t believe it was her. I believe it was the person who broke into his truck and watched what was on his GoPro that he probably had strapped to his head when he filmed while killing.

he’s probably confessing because he knows there’s more footage soon to be ‘found’

I am not so sure he labeled it but we shall find out I suppose in the weeks ahead.

I’m curious about the truck break in and if it wasn’t done intentionally by someone who knew him. Maybe there was a ransom not paid. Maybe they took it personally when Kathleen disappeared and wanted him caught.

Very true. I thought law enforcement would be an interesting field to get in to. But on second thought (though it might be interesting), videos would be hard for most of us to emotionally deal with.

Yikes, he has a very disturbed, creepy look in those enlarged photos of him! Yet, he knew how to hide his monster side if you look at pics of him with his wife. I imagine the things he said when he opened his mouth were a tell. I wonder if he talked about women the same way he talks about blacks.

But wait, apparently friends are describing him as meek and lovable, unflappable, never angry! I'm unable to copy and paste from that news site, but read the whole article.

It bothers me that the footage was taken from September 4th to the 6th of 2019. Torture and it must have gone on for days.

Kathleen's body was found 10/2/2019.
Veronica's body was found 10/2/2019, but they had found her skull with a gunshot in April 2019. Smith gave LE the location of where Veronica's body was disposed.
