I hope that Samantha is alive too. A couple of flaws in the "APD are doing the right thing" case:
1. It is nearly two months and there has not been a single sighting of Samantha. What APD are doing isn't working. For heavens sake there are continiual sightings of Casey Anthony *spits* and she is alive. When Caylee was missing there were sightings every day in every state - nothing here that they have released. It just isn't working, get fresh eyes in on the case asap.
The longer this goes on the less chance of her being found alive.
It is a TV show but it's title rings true - The First 48 - after that passes it gets harder and harder to solve a case.
2. First Amendment
3. Freedom of information act.
4. They have a guy that they are sure is involved and he isn't talking and you can bet your sweet bippee he has been offered every deal up to, but not including, walking away free and they still have not found the girl.
The goings on in that department have been shady for a while, why in heavens name a father can accept that he is not being told anything is beyond me, unless he too is lying and either knows more than he is saying or he is actually being told everything and lying publicly to keep the media vans from clogging up his street.
I just don't understand how people can be so accepting and place their trust in people they have no idea about.
Yes they were saying they believed Samantha was alive - that changed as soon as IK was cuffed. There is a HUGE difference between a search and a recovery.
And that's the other thing. I know the climate is killer up there but why I am not reading of searches going on continually. A release of that nature puts people's minds at ease that SOMETHING is being done. As the public see it it is a bunch of 20 plus men achieving nothing.
People say they must be getting closer .... really? How? Tell em how they are getting closer. It is no different today than it was on February 2, Samantha has still not been found.
Police do not have to let out all information, that would be stupid, but there is a population up there of 300,000 people and each and every one of them deserve the right to feel safe and protected.
IF they were on to him early in this case following him around to find Samantha they have put every person in Anchorage in danger - they themselves say that.
Yesterday they said in court that they believed IK to be a danger to the public. That means they were on to him, KNEW he was dangerous, and still did their tracking *(which I remind you again has failed). It even allowed him to go rob a bank in another state while being tracked. If they were on to him why didn't they nab him then? Did they even relealize he was out of state.
The people of Anchorage deserve answers , they are the ones paying for this whole investigation. I wanted to see police searching areas, tracking dogs called in, helicopters in the air .... a woman was missing! I have seen diddly squat, zip, nada, not a thing.
I will never be slapping APD on the back saying good work guys! You tried - sorry you failed.
they are verging on being a corrupt department and that was happening before Samantha went missing.
