Comments under the FB page for the news channel that did the interview with CB's family
https://www.facebook.com/alaskatvktva

Thank you ak81. Reading those comments actually made me lmao bc TMC posted her comments in retaliation after JK & his admins made their snide comments. Enough of the Hatfields & McCoys already. Seems those spewing the slander comments need a lesson on the definition behind the word itself. Its only slander if its false. Plus TMC apologized, even though she had every right in the world to speak out, especially with as much as she's endured, but it was wrong for her to say such disparaging remarks on a public forum knowing that JK is living through hell right now & Sam is missing. She apologized but looks like that admin & a couple friends want to keep it up. It's despicable. Plain & simple. They need to let it go & shut their mouths about this lady's son. I've seen more negative stuff come from the site run by them thats supposed to be to help find a missing person rather than what's come from TMC. Definitely not slander - the info backing the claims up were given to a lawyer, media & police. If I were TMC, I'd slap a restraining order on them so they can't mention their names ever again, that should end the feud between them. Again, Cummings - Croslin - Sheffield ... Enough said.

Was the "fling" ever mentioned by JK or just in the ktva article?

Yes in the ktva article but No with JK. Apparently it DID happen but those Sam KEPT IT SECRET FROM decide to not believe it ever happened. Maybe they should be quiet.

Maybe one of the biggest reasons APD isn't letting JK in on more is bc he may have kept a few negative traits of Sam's away from them. The girl is MISSING! The cops need to know everything, every single thing, most especially the bad stuff.

Maybe she had a relapse & that's why she kept certain things away from family & friends. Maybe she likes "bad" boys so that's why she cheated. Who knows & who cares? Who wants to judge? She's 18 years old, kids do dumb things. Too many people speaking up now for this stuff to be untrue.

Sad thing is that no matter what comes out about Sam & anybody else, she still could have been stalked & kidnapped by a perfect azzwipe stranger.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this but the door on the Coffee Hut doesn't look very secure to me. It reminds me of a screen door with nothing more than a storm window in it. Maybe the owner should consider changing the door out and making sure there's a dead bolt on the door if it doesn't have one. They might even consider using one of those window bank tellers use when doing transaction at the drive through. I've seen those kind of windows at some of the drive through down in Florida where the server has no actual physical contact with the individuals they are servicing. They put their money in the draw and then the server puts the product in the draw and sides it out.

I was surprised when I looked again at the pics on Common Grounds website how BIG the drive-thru windows are. I pictured them more like a fast food drive-thru window. These are so big, they're almost a door!

The only real acknowledgement I've ever seen/heard JK make of the connection between Sam and CB was on Nancy Grace when he said he was merely an "aquaintence". It's possible he wasn't aware she was cheating on her bf with him, and to be perfectly honest, even if he did know about it I don't think he'd admit it. It's one of those things that I think those close to her would count as a "negative", and they clearly do not want anyone knowing anything about Sam that doesn't cast her in a perfect light, which I still feel is a mistake.

Oh Jersey, I couldn't agree more! Not only is it only slander is it's untrue, but CB's mom said she "was told"...therefore, if it's untrue, it's more of perpetuating a rumor, which to my knowledge isn't illegal or half the world would be brought up on charges daily. I agree that I have seen more negative coming from Sam's side towards CB, than vice-versa and believe his mother was just defending herself and her son. It came across as childish, but at least she apologized and "owned" it, so for that I give her props.

I don't think it matters whether a person is told, or invents it. If it's false and published it and others read it, and especially if the person saying it knows it's not true or didn't bother to check it out, the elements of defamation/libel (slander is verbal) can still be there. There are usually special rules for public figures, with regard to whom we are permitted more leeway; I'm not sure whether they would apply in this case under Alaska law.

That could be. Then I guess JK may be guilty of slander also, for saying that Sam was assaulted by CB. I'm sure he wasn't there, but rather was told by Sam, so if it is untrue, and he has repeated it......slander.
Regardless I think both sides need to stop. It's truly counter-productive for JK, and CB's mom shouldn't care what he says or thinks about her son if there is proof like she said that he is not guilty of the assault.

I read that last night. It made me cry - literally.

Me too.. and another one later of him pleading for them to just let her go. "I can't take this anymore. Tell me what you want and it's yours!"
I think whatever else is going on, (debts he may have owed, whatever) at least I can feel sure that he wasn't involved in her actual disappearance.
How do parents survive this nightmare?? Bonnie Craig's mom didn't find out what had happened to her daughter for 10 years. How do you not go completely insane? :(

It might be darn near impossible for me to not go insane if something like this happened to my children. I mean, sometimes the period of "not knowing" is far more excruciating than the end result. I just watched that video of DT, which I paired with the stuff dug up about his childhood, man this cat can't catch a break. I don't feel he or her father are involved and I feel sick after watching him in that video. While some may question if it's "put on", I feel as though he appears lost & broken. Sam basically grew up without a mother in her life everyday. DT endured the same with his father being incarcerated. From my perspective, I see two kid's that leaned on each other & found comfort in one another's history as they can relate to each other. Broken, he looks absolutely broken. He appears scared to death. Poor kid probably hasn't wanted to speak out as loud as JK bc of his own issues. I feel absolutely sick for these people.

In Anchorage, if a person were to purchase heroin, meth or x, which street would they go to first?

Since Mary-J is legal there up to a certain amount, is it safe to say it could be acquired anywhere?

Is MS13 big in Anchorage?

When cocaine, heroin & larger quantities of weed are shipped in, which port is used most frequently? Or could stuff be hauled in via snowmobiles or sled from Canada?

If you notice that kind of talk from JK has ceased altogether. Maybe he has just been worn down, over a month now and all we keep hearing from APD is we are making progress. Well I say BS, that's just a nice way to say we have no friggin clue.

So true... in my opinion.. :)
I think they are just blowing smoke up his a... and its getting old.

I'm certainly no expert on anything drug-related but I know there are certain areas of town that are known to be worse for drugs (guess that's the same with any city). The Spenard area has a rep for lots of drugs and prostitution, but I couldn't give actual street names (other than Spenard Rd). I know certain high schools are known more for one drug or another. DP, the APD spokesperson, actually does seminars (or used to) about drugs and violence in town and I attended one last year -- very eye-opening to say the least. I'm pretty sure kids can get their hands on X or coke at school, and definitely you can get pot anywhere. Not sure about heroin or meth. I've asked my high school son if he's seen any of that go down at parties he's been to, and he said the worst he's seen is coke. But LOTS are into weed. If you just look at the FB pages of SK's friends, or really anyone in that age bracket, you'll see them list "420" or "Blunt" or something similar in their Interests section. There are a lot of meth labs in the valley (Mat-Su Valley, including Wasilla & Palmer, about 50 miles north of Anch) from what I've heard, and a lot of pot growers out there.
I have no idea about hauling in drugs from Canada.. I guess it would be possible (they call them "snowmachines" up here, by the way :) That was something that took a long time to get used to when I came up 20 years ago)
I'd never heard of MS13, I actually had to Google it! I know there are some Samoan gangs but I really have heard very little about gang violence in the news. I know it happens but doesn't seem to be rampant, at least not yet.
Probably not very helpful info.. I should do more local research and see what I can come up with.

I think it's important to remember that really, as far as I can recall, all of this is person vs person word. Right? Since LE hasn't released any information, we don't know what has been told, true or false! People have been known to give LE false information..

Everyone involved is trying to prove their innocents in this awful situation.

I think I recall, JK posting on his own FB page that CB and his mother were liars and that what (paraphrase for lack of memory)
Sam and CB had was NOT a fling and did NOT last weeks and that CB and his mother were trying to make it appear CB had a friendship/relationship and JK believes the extent of their relationship was the untried sexual assault.

I don't think the drugs would be "brought in"... I really feel this has to do with something being "exported".. or that Sam was trying to be the liaison between two groups---

Just my brain concocting a theory here....

I am not sure about the other stuff.. lol! I do know Mary-J is pretty much everywhere. I mean people know people and I think it goes like that. So yeah pretty much anywhere.

I have no idea what MS13 is... lol.. I am just a Mom, Housewife! I dont think the other stuff would be hauled in via snowmachines. There is a main port downtown.

I guess I am not good at answering those questions because I dont know about the drugs in AK, nor where or how they get here. Sorry! Wish I could be more help.

My last post was horribly written! Ha.
I guess what you said is what I was getting at.

I really haven't seen JK trying to cover up too much about Samantha unless I'm missing something. I noticed him clearly upset with CB and co related to the assault/ fling debate. Which really, at this point until Samantha comes home there would be no way to prove!

I also remember TC posting (before the interview came out) that she'd had Sam over to their house a few times, they'd even talked about DT, Sam's bf, and Sam had dinner there. I suppose she could've made that up as well, but since she said that stuff weeks ago, I tend to think she's telling the truth. In which case, she & CB were actually at least friends and not just acquaintances.
