I think CB is the type of person who retaliates. I find it hard to believe he didn't retaliate against having sexual assault charges brought?

I had a neighbor bring charges against my dog that were false, and she never showed in court either, and I am still holding a grude. jus sayin'.

I don't think he was ever charged. Sam filed for a civil order of protection. Which I think would be different than if she talked with LE and they filed charges. Normally in a case with charges LE would file for an order of protection for the victim.

The last bit in the Anchorage paper was 3/3 or 3/4 and that was just the bit about the guy giving away his strip club...so apparently there is just nothing to report than can be backed up. JMO

hi everyone, my opinion only:
If I was going to kidnap someone for ransom, it would not be James Koenig's daughter. Unless he's some kind of crime boss (WHO HAS NO RAP SHEET?), this guy doesnt have life-in-prison money.
Just my opinion, but if this guy is involved in some kind of fake-out, he ought to get an oscar.
SK may or may not have a checkered past with both men and substances; just like many teenagers.
On the other hand, SK has already falsley accused one man of victimizing her, and if Chelsea Hoffman's blog posts are true, she was very duplicitious in the days leading up to her alleged abduction, and this must be taken into consideration.
APD has already cleared CB, and this is 2012. 40 or 50 years ago, this guy would have been indicted for murder already. I have a hard time believing local PD doesnt have a darn good reason for not releasing the security vid. Even in a place like Alaska, they're probably as professional as cops anywhere.
I believe that if she is not voluntarily missing, neither her father, nor CB has anything to do with it.
How many teenagers have gotten in over their heads?

Not a good idea, at all. But hope some of the venting brings about some new leads.

Maybe whoever took her is just way in over their head. Their intent was to scare her or someone close to her, but this case took on a life of it's own pretty quickly. Maybe now they are just hunkering down and looking for a way out. That's the optimist in me, looking for a way for Sam to still be alive after 36 days.

The state has decriminalized marijuana to some degree. Typically, decriminalization means no prison time or criminal record for first-time possession of a small amount for personal consumption. The conduct is treated like a minor traffic violation.

IMO, most "dealers" here are small potatoes. You can have up to 24 (!!) plants in your home and as long as you are the only one using it in your own home, you are fine.

I had to google image 1 oz of MJ since I am not into that, and it's a sandwich ziploc bag full pretty much! That is a lot of weed that you can possess with no penalty.

My mind wondered to that big drug bust made not too long after Sam disappeared. The driver was supposed to meet someone in Anchorage, but got pulled over before it took place and they searched her SUV. IIRC, the drugs were coming in from Fairbanks. I have to go back and find a link.

The indictment was February 22, but the bust was January 26th. The drugs were going from Anchorage to Fairbanks, the runner was arrested in Anchorage while making the transfer.

Now for some My Opinion Only - Not saying SK was doing hard drugs, but could she have gotten involved as a fringe player with some hardcore drugs. Maybe she was supposed to transfer some drugs after her shift at the coffee stand, she let the person in, made the transfer, the person saw the camera and freaked out, dragged SK out of the shop and ran with her. Like it was tossed about earlier, now it has gotten out of control, and they don't know how they can let her go without getting caught. This could be why LE doesn't want to release the video, because it may show a transfer of illegal substances. Knowledge that the kidnap victim was participating in a crime could very well "taint the jury".

Early on a few myspaces were located for Sam, but all were private, so we weren't able to see much, and as far as I know a fb for her was never found. The idea has been floated that perhaps she did have a fb account that was deleted before she went missing, but idk. I think LE could get access to a deleted page, because nothing on the web is ever really, truly "deleted", I don't think.

What if LE won't release the video and believe it could "taint a jury pool" because although she WAS taken by force, it shows her doing something suspicious beforehand? I know LE has said they have "never characterized" the abductor as being someone she knew, but I think alot of what they say is specifically worded so as not to give away what they saw on that tape. What if the abductor walked in, and she handed him money...after which, he displayed a weapon and the whole thing took a turn, so-to-speak. Perhaps she took a sum of money from someone, in order to buy drugs which she could have then turned around and sold to make that and even more money back, and the deal went bad?
This might explain why they won't release the video. If the public saw her engaging in an exchange of money or drugs, I guess that could definitely have the potential to taint a jury pool if public perception of the crime became "well, she put herself in a position for something bad to happen.", kwim?
