I can't speak for Chrome, but when I noticed the spelling in the army doc and googled it that way, Intelius listed the Reyes name as an alias.

More or less the way I came upon the conclusion that Reyes was/is an alias. It would fit his dossier too. Having several names. He is an identity thief after all.

Unfortunately I am not finding much else in databases. Again this case is getting strange. I thought after a suspect was found a resolution would be in site...I don't see that happening just yet.

I will continue to dig around and see what I can find out...

Now that I think about it...anyone else familiar with the text book definition of a sociopath?

Of course this is a rhetoric because if you are you should see where I am going with this.
So maybe he was just some crazed stalker after all.
Then again...the investigators are being their cryptic selves. With information that is just covered enough to make us think there are more people involved but at the same time doubt it.
This whole thing still doesn't sit right with me.

I am with you Chrome. I think the end story here is going to be nothing like it started out. I do believe there will be more arrests though (I have no idea why, then again my name says it all lol)

Gosh I really want to know where the first one was taken from. It's the same guy for sure, but they weren't taken anywhere near each other. I was thinking maybe passport for the first one instead of mugshot, but I'm 99% certain (b/c of the Zahara Baker case) that passports are required to be with a white background ? ? ? Maybe a drivers license?

It looks like a ski pass picture. Coat, matted hair from wearing a hat?

Has anyone looked to see if there were any missing women or UIDs in any of the areas at the same time as this guy? Is it possible he has been someone looked at in the past for other cases, but there was no evidence? Now there is a definite pattern? The access fraud could also be merely misrepresenting a credit card company about your income. Anything to arrest him. He looks very calm and collected in the arrest photos. If he is using her cards, maybe someone paid him to do so, to take the search out of Alaska.

Heaven help me but I just woke up & first thought is that I can't help but to feel that foul mouthed CB (if not involved at all) deserves a very public apology from JK, as well as the official spokesperson for the APD (that obviously needs a little more education in appropriate words used when being interviewed).

Has anybody found IK's birth record yet?

Question: If Sam's purse was left in the hut, then wouldn't her cards (if she even had any besides a regular visa/ATM bank card) be in her wallet inside of her purse? Doesn't make sense for a perp to say - yo, gimme all the money in the till & gimme the money & cards in your wallet too but leave your purse here, and oh yeah ya better come with me. So, back to the purse...

Neighbors said that they noticed an unmarked police car idling for hours on Monday at an intersection a block away. Tuesday morning police arrived in unmarked cars, neighbors said. Wearing SWAT gear and carrying rifles, they swarmed the blue house. They took pictures and seemed to be collecting evidence. Later on that day, police followed Anderson's car as she pulled into the driveway, neighbors said. She left with them. Her car and Keyes' truck were towed. She returned the next day by cab. A crime scene van stayed parked outside the house until late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, neighbors said.

Late Thursday afternoon, after Keyes' arrest was announced, a truck pulled up to the blue house, where a trailer with Keyes' business name on it was parked in the driveway. Two women got out. One of the women covered her head with a jacket to shield her face.

It seems KA never tried to shield her face. I wonder who this other woman is?

Was it ever cleared up if she had taken her purse or not? I'm thinking maybe her coat was in his car or some other identifiable belonging.

I had been hoping she was in on it and just ran away with someone, but I can't imagine a reason she'd be with this loser by choice.

JMO

If the comments are really by this Isreal, I think its pretty clear what happened. Older guy had crush on younger girl...thought she liked him back and maybe snapped when she turned him down or he found out she had a boyfriend.

Unless this turns out to be a scam, I sadly believe she died weeks ago. I really hope not.

Omg. Why does the media only reveal half of a story? To keep us tuning in? I'd like to know if KA & IK were in a relationship, or are they related, or was he just staying at her place? Is KA related to one of Samantha's friends bc I'm finding a link between a surname that is shared by somebody close to Sam. This link also shares the same surname (but not the first name) as one of the admins to her site.

Is it the general consensus that he drove from Alaska to Texas?

No idea but when dwindling down the info, I find that if he flew then the le would have info on a plane ticket. If he flew then he'd have had to rent or borrow a car once in TX, unless he left one of his own there. However, he lived in WA & AK over the past years so why would he have left a car in TX? Also, if it was a rental or borrowed, how would there be evidence of a kidnapping inside of the car? I know there's an easy answer for everything but problem is that none of the answers add up, unless he drove from AK to TX. If he flew he'd have had to pack all of the stuff implicating a kidnapping and then loaded it in the car from a plane - which of course wouldn't make sense. So I think he drove, unless he flew from AK with Sam. Omg who's on first? :D

Snipped: "It's the result of many hours of police work," Markiewicz said. "Methodical meticulous police work (by) our officers and detectives, the local FBI office and the local enforcement in Texas, screening every lead and following up."
"This wasn't the result of luck."

That kills the 'random traffic stop' theory, although in Texas random stops often become news headlines for some reason.

Markiewicz is incredible at talking in circles and changing his mind on what he will say. He changes his mind more than any woman I know. lol

Not necessarily. That's exactly how a lot of criminals are caught, they do something stupid and get stopped on a minor traffic violation. Once LE runs the plates and the info from their DL, that gives them probable cause to search the vehicle and Bingo!
This same article says that investigators from Anchorage have been in TX for several days.... so my guess is that they followed a trail, had him in their sights, and just waited for a good enough reason to detain him.
Pretty good police work involving multiple agencies and jurisdictions. I think they should be congratulated, and just hope that this leads them to Samantha.

Exactly!
And because unless this woman was involved in the actual kidnapping, their relationship is not important. My guess is LE has not found a connection yet so they won't give too many details surrounding her unless they do. If she was involved in any way with Sam's kidnapping, I'm sure we'll hear about it sooner or later.

Israel Keyes, 34, was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon in Lufkin, Texas. FBI agents, Texas Rangers and Department of Public Safety investigators said there was enough evidence in Keyes’ white car to connect him with an out-of-state kidnapping.

Keyes lived at that location for roughly two years, but the house is registered to Kimberly Anderson.
Keyes owns Keyes Construction, and came to Alaska in 2007 from Neah Bay, Washington. His neighbors on Spurr Lane said Keyes had moved there about two years ago, and lived in the quiet, blue-painted house with his girlfriend and a young child. They said he had been on vacation "out of state" for some time.
