That's not wimpy at all. It's smart for all of us to practice self care which includes understanding our own triggers and setting ourselves up for emotional success not placing ourselves in situations which could be problematic. Take a break if you need to...or skip listening directly... and know that that's being strong not weak. Hugs.

(This is so true. As I’ve said before one of the best skills a websleuther can have is knowing when to step away.)

I am 15 pages behind here still and catching up so I’m not up to speed on if there have been developments yet but I did want to comment that I’m not sure this would have made a difference, meaning if a predator had his eyes set on her it might have just been a matter of time. We have seen the great lengths a predator will go to to achieve what he wants.
Agreed, It would only have been a matter of time. Especially with him living next-door.

I hope I say (type) this the right way so as not to offend.

Too often I see selfies on-line, of children and very young girls that would be considered alluring even if of an adult woman. Are the parents/caregivers unaware?

Please let your babies be babies.

Inmates do not like baby killers.

Another emotional tirade: Mamas in hard places, struggling to keep the family afloat without a reliable partner all too often have to rely on less than ideal child care situations. No blame--just frustrated observation. A hate the predators that lie in wait to pounce on the most vulnerable.
The AUNT isn’t to blame IMO for living next door to her husband’s sister who is the one who chose a predator as her partner/spouse. I can understand and see how CM might have deceived his next door neighbors. Many predators are publicly charming.

Well I agree ... but I really don’t believe that “most” monsters look at pictures and go hunt their victims. As we know, it’s usually someone they know that murders them. Despite the photos that have been posted - with her “mimicking” her older cousins and relatives - she was a very innocent child who had no sexual appeal to anyone other than a predatorial monster. MOO.

Alabama is a death penalty state. I hope the 🤬🤬🤬 gets the death penalty. I cannot believe he has a child and could kill a young girl. For what??? Rot in hell you 🤬🤬🤬.

RIP Amberly. You did nothing to deserve this, just being a young girl.

I am not sure Chris Madison lived next door. I thought he lived a mile down the road.

I truly feel bad for Amberly's aunt. She is also going to live with this for the rest of her life.

> modsnip - quoted a deleted post<

"Bible holding sheriff" Could the MSM be any more condescending ?

Oh yeah, give them time, and they will stoop even lower.

I'm so brokenhearted for this beautiful young girl, and those who love her.

Imo

I worked as a military policeman for 10 years in the Marine Corps and the Army and have dealt with these situations. It’s not easy, however it needs to be done right.

Thank you for your service.

(I just wrote a long note re your posts last night but deleted it because I’m in a hurry to get caught up here but making a note to retry later)

The mom has a daughter that was murdered. I wouldn't recommend putting criticism in her direction because of her daughters pictures.
AB's grandmother was murdered. Not a daughter. Unless you are talking about something else.

PLEASE someone explain to me WHY a woman would remain with an animal that did ALL of those horrible things to her? Why would she let him back in her house?
This makes me so sick! If she had left him when he did these things - thrown him out - because I’m assuming the trailer is hers - got away from him - pressed charges until he was locked up - this beautiful innocent precious child would be alive - period. I’m infuriated after reading her statement.

JB's daughter, AB, was murdered...think this is what Night Watchman is referring to?

When I first saw the pictures of Amberly I gasped at how beautiful she was and my heart sank. I knew immediately that this was not going to end well.

Such a beautiful child that had her whole life ahead of her and a monster decides to take it from her. My anger and sorrow knows no bounds.

I wanted to address the comments regarding mom not crying during the interview. There was a time I was on meds due to a traumatic time. I couldn't cry if I wanted to....and I wanted to badly. I wouldn't be thinking a whole lot about Amberly's mom not crying and no tears. It means nothing.

Also, not every child gets brought up the way a lot of us have been brought up. Typically, parents do the best they can and sometimes history repeats itself. I believe Amberly was loved and that's what's important. The rest is, what it is.

RIP Amberly. My heart is aching for what could have been.

If she, or her mother, was posting those type photos on FB, Instagram, where ever, then chances are he saw her in real life that way too.

Bottom line is, parents should practice upbringing that is age appropriate. Doesn't look like this mom did. :-(
I disagree. If kids are not allowed to experiment with nail polish and eye make-up, it sends a signal to them that they are wrong for doing it (or that they are ”asking for it“). It’s not them. Never. It’s sociopaths like CM who are to blame. Always.

Besides, most child molesters don’t give a damn if a girl wears make-up or not.

This crime is entirely ON HIM. This child can dress as she chooses, visit SM sites, the aunt can go to the store and the mother can be in Georgia for awhile. He did it. The people around him are not required to live their lives so as not to rile him or entice him or are they required to behave in any way so he is excused from using self control and obeying the law!!
