The male offender lives in Huntsville and was identified by law enforcement officers as Rodrigo Chagolla Ortega. Ortega met the juvenile female victim via social media. The Pelham Police Department will be charging Ortega with Interference with Child Custody (C Felony). MCSO will be charging Ortega with numerous felonies as well.[....]

• Madison County jail records show that he is charged with second grade charges for attracting and raping a minor.

• The 13-Year-old girl disappeared from Pelham area Tuesday morning. Researchers say several tracks took them to Joslin Street in Huntsville, where she and an adult man were found Thursday afternoon. Both were arrested without incident.

• After they found her in Huntsville, they checked her in a local hospital and it's okay.

• Madison County investigators say Ortega met the girl through social media and told him he was 19 years old.

Madison County Sheriff Kevin Turner said Ortega met the teen on social media, and Ortega told A he was 19.

“We are happy that the victim can be reunited with her family, and that the man responsible has been brought to justice," he said. “This is a warning for every one of us. We encourage parents to be mindful of what your kids are doing online and who they are talking to. These threats are real and do exist,” he said.

Unfortunately, this is high crime area. If you were to click on al dot com each day, you will likely find something bad happening. Abduction, rape, murder, drive by shooting, etc. I was kinda surprised about this Pelham event but we got FBI, Pelham PD, and Shelby County Sheriff's departments involved.

Someone asked how she was found. Well this is all I will say, in the technology age we live in, the more you have on your persons and dont disconnect, the easier you will be to find.

I was 13 once and my boyfriend was 22. We went to shooting competitions together and uphill racing in Pismo Beach. Was no secret to anyone in the 60's, but that was way before al gore invented the internet. Nowadays, people get hooked up online with strangers they know nothing about...
