One of Blanchard’s friends shared with ABC News she believes Blanchard met up with a man she met on a dating app before her disappearance.

“That is what she said she was going to do that night," she said. "Go meet a guy named Eric.

Auburn police say they're investigating this.

“Certainly we are exploring the possibility that she met someone,” Dorsey said.
Auburn police investigating foul play among other possibilities in case of missing teen

This story has the name of the man in it. So the part about meeting at a bar, where did that come from? Was
"The Montgomery Police Department, FBI, U.S. Marshal Service, the Department of Homeland Security, the Lee County District Attorney’s Office, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Alabama Fusion Center and the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences are assisting with the investigation."

Aniah Blanchard, stepdaughter of UFC fighter Walt Harris, missing from Auburn, Alabama since last Wednesday

I had to look up Alabama Fusion Center and what they investigate, amber alerts, cyber crimes AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING among a few other things.

Could Aniah be a part of a huge trafficking ring and that’s the reason for the lack of information given by LE?

‎Crime Stories with Nancy Grace: HELP BRING ANIAH BLANCHARD HOME! Beautiful teen college student missing after Snapchatting with roommate about new friend. on Apple Podcasts

Just listing to the podcast with her parents. at 12:20 it sounds like a friend of the room mate is being interviewed and it sounds like they clearly know the name of the person she was supposedly with. She is about to say their name then stops her self and say's " i don't think i should give any names"

Why would she hold back the name of the person?

All things are possible, but don't they usually tend to try to nab those who wouldn't be missed? The stepdaughter of a UFC fighter seems like a poor target unless someone was looking for a ransom, but if they were looking for a ransom I wouldn't think the governor would be offering the reward money until she was returned. Granted there is always the chance the perpetrators didn't know.

So true and so scary as a parent. During my college years I did some things even I can barely believe I did looking back on that time. I know if anything had happened my parents would have swore on my life I never would do (insert poor choice I made here). Nothing criminal, unless there is a charge for criminal stupidity. In the moment I felt invincible and it is by the grace of god that I never had anyone truly take advantage of my naïveté.

I hope that this doesn’t come off as victim blaming because that is NOT my intention at all. As we transition from childhood to adulthood, it is essential and healthy to take risks, push boundaries, explore the world, and learn from those around us. No young man or woman should ever, ever have to pay for that...especially the ultimate price (not speculating about what may or may not have occurred, just stating in general).
My daughter takes great delight in telling me her college tales, almost 10 years later. I am horrified......but......I win! Unfortunately I did worse!

Scared, she may have given the name to LE. I don't know that I would have revealed the name on a podcast for all to here, mainly the person I was naming. Just think a podcast is out for the ratings, more than wellfare of those being interviewed. JMO

Trying to catch up! Was really hoping for some positive news today :(

I listened to the podcast, and I noticed mom said the brother did NOT know that Aniah was planning to go out or he would have given her a charger for her phone. This seems to conflict with earlier info correct?

Also, mom says Aniah snap texted? Her roommate to tell her she was on her way home shortly (paraphrasing here) and that’s when the roommate finds out she is with the guy she just met. I don’t know what to think at this point, but this definitely doesn’t look good for Aniah coming home safely. :( MOO

Very true. And at this point, I’m guessing the name is probably an alias anyway unless of course, there was some accident and this guy got scared. Who knows? I pray they find her soon. Her poor family must be devastated. MOO

IIRC.......LE asked Aniah's family and friends to not share details on social media.

They probably did not know her step father was UFC fighter. I think she just meet him.( I would not want piss her step daddy off)

I am reminded of the ML case... so hoping for a different outcome. WWF Fighter is her stepdad.
Her stepdad fights on UFC. WWF is now WWE. UFC is MMA and WWE is wrestling.

MMA- Mixed MARTIAL Arts

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is a full-contact combat sport that allows striking and grappling, both standing and on the ground, using techniques from various combat sports and martial arts.
Her step father is very popular and just had a resent victory.

Strange to not have a charger in her car. Doesn’t everyone have one? And there’s no reason to ever take it out since it can’t be used anywhere else. I find that odd.

The guys name has appeared in MSM as well.

My car charger is just my regular iPhone cord. I take it inside all the time

I will try to find an article, but on the local news tonight (Birmingham area) they said the investigation into Aniah missing is now a criminal one.

ETA link and quote:
Authorities believe 'foul play' involved in UFC star's missing stepdaughter
"This is a criminal investigation. Obviously, we're approaching it as such. I think the only right way to do it is to approach it as if foul play is involved and as if there is someone or more than one person involved in this,” Lee County District Attorney Brandon Hughes said Wednesday. “We do not believe Amiah would or did essentially go missing on her own volition."
