im thinking she drove up to her apt and got out to go in and this guy accosted her. I don't see the issue w her having a 🤬🤬🤬.

Hm. So, she was walking "to her apartment" but was kidnapped in her own car? Was she very close to her apartment and told her kidnapper which car was hers, or what? I'm confused. I'm sorry to be so cynical, but any time a 🤬🤬🤬 is immediately set up, my hinky meter rises. IMO.

That makes much more sense then it was earlier reported...as it seemed she was walking down the road to her home.

Something just doesn't add up here. I watch the interview on Today. Just seems off.

"A man was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the kidnapping of an Alabama nursing student who was locked in the trunk of her car before a dramatic escape that was caught on camera.

Manuel Towns was arrested on charges of kidnapping in the first degree, robbery in the first degree and two counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, a supervising attorney at the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office told NBC News Wednesday evening."

He seems to be a truly despicable 🤬🤬🤬.

She used the light from her insulin pump to find the release latch. We can learn from this. Manufacturers ought to put a little light on the release latch.

2018 Update-

Life without parole for man in abduction of Avondale woman who made dramatic trunk escape

<snipped>
A Jefferson County jury in may found 29-year-old Manuel Ali Towns guilty of first-degree kidnapping, first-degree robbery and two counts of fraudulent use of a credit or debit card. The sentence for Towns, handed down Monday morning, was mandatory life without parole because of his previous felony convictions.

Prior to the March 2017 abduction of 25-year-old Brittney Diggs, Towns had a criminal history dating back more than a decade. Just two months before the kidnapping, he was released from prison after serving five years and two months for possession of marijuana.

Life for kidnapping is appropriate, but over five years for marijuana possession seems extreme. Was there more to the mj arrest than we read here?

All I found after a brief look recently was this from link above-

Towns had a criminal history dating back more than a decade.

Unsure of his previous criminal history at this time. I may try to look further at a later date.

I am just trying to follow up on previous posts that I have been thinking about over the years.

*Now you have made me curious and I will try and look and see what I can find between gaming and bed.

First find-
convicted robber
Unfortunately, all at this time from me.

Adding--
this was a good read imho about the ordeal-
