I mean there's nothing here that's truly unique to the south. CW's tats of racist prison(?) gangs notwithstanding, those are sadly commonplace across the U.S.
The sheriff seems kind of small town but like you said, Jeffrey Epstein's suicide/murder happened in a NYC facility...
BBM
Yes, and JE's friend and fellow SA groupie,
Jean-Luc Brunel
was found dead in his PARIS jail cell, hanged, suicide...same MO as JE.

So, I dont really think it is just southern prisons or jails that have the live and let live, or turn the blind eye mentality.

CW's mother speaks.

He was facing murder charges after confessing to the stabbing death of Connie Ridgeway, 58.

His mother claimed he copped to that crime to get a change of scenery at the rural county jail.

“The only reason he came out to Lauderdale County was to get out of the prison he was in,” she said.

“He wrote a letter to say that he murdered that woman. But he didn’t really murder her, he just done that to get back up here.

“He just wanted to be out of that prison because it was so bad and there was no food.”

Escaped Alabama inmate Casey White is ‘not a monster,’ mom says

I'm interested in this 'penpal' CW had. Male, female? When inmates have correspondence with outside individuals the letters are read by prison staff.

When CW was incarcerated at the William E Donaldson Corr. facility his custody status was Closed. This is the definition of Closed:
  • The most restrictive custody level to which an inmate can be assigned. Inmates in this custody will be housed in a single cell in a close security institution. Movement outside the housing area requires that the inmate be restrained and accompanied by armed correctional personnel in accordance with Administrative Regulations and Standard Operating Procedures.
That sounds like solitary confinement to me. If not, can someone clarify that for me. According to the following website, inmates in solitary confinement are not allowed to receive any kind of mail.

So, if CW did have a 'penpal' when did he start communicating with them? After he was transferred to the county jail? Was the transfer to Barneyfifeville the the impetus to start the communication? If he did start communicating with someone did this jail allow communication with outside individuals considering his status in the state prison? I probably already know the answer to that, unfortunately.

But it does beg the question whether or not VW was aware of CW communicating with someone and presuming all letters, etc are read by jail staff would she be aware of this individual? CW was probably handing his mom a line. She seems to have some kind of blind spot toward her son, imo. Killed a dog, carjacked people, shot people, threatened to kill his ex, but he's just a hungry misunderstood boy who wants better food.

If there is a penpal then it's very possible that VW is just a useful idiot to get him out of prison until he can meet up with his 'penpal' and then they will dispose of her. Not too soon, though, she needs to liquidate all her assets first.

My personal opinion is that wherever they are, they are on CW's familiar turf not her's.

I think VW was his penpal and she was using an alias.

I don't know how prison security/visits are handled, but it seems like, if there ever were an easy way in, it'd be a White visiting a White. Oh, you're family? Head on in. Aunt Victoria, or somesuch. Tame penpal. Harmless....

Except not.

How can she access any retirement benefits? I believe they are directly deposited and all of her banks have to be on high alert for her accessing her accounts. JMO
I can't answer this however I always thought if you retire its like giving a 2 wk notice. You don't just say that day you're retiring but say something like "here's my notice i'm retiring in 2/3 /4 wks) To give the business time to adjust to filling that spot. I also thought it can take time to get the retirement checks/deposits set up. IDK, we're not there yet. IMO

Hi, All, wanted to login and ask if there is a recent picture of VW or if the picture being posted everywhere is the most recent pic of her. I may have missed this topic, but seems a current pic of VW would be helpful if she is spotted.

Wouldn't the bank put a hold on the account(s), freeze account?

Does Vicky have any blood relatives that she is close with?

I believe she was living with her ex- MIL, not her own mother.

Is there anyone else out there to check her DNA against?
Vicky was living with her own mother, who reportedly lived next door to Vicky's former house.

This is IMO, but that would be an interesting way for the buyer to launder illegal cash or use money kept in a shoe box.

JMO, MOO and etc.
Was it a Cash buyer, when she sold her house ???
Either way, there would be a trace of wire or cashier check

I assume this is a more recent picture.

So she could have gotten that for their escape? Really wondering what their options are with their escape. Was she clever enough to create new identities and get fake id's?
Unknown for certain at this time, but in all probability, yes she was.

Yep. I Imagine all her known accounts are frozen. Thats pretty typical when you are on the run from the US Marshal and FBI. Sometimes they are left open while the feds wait for you to make a mistake. jmo

Travel. You can't get into most countries without a covid vax card.
The only country they can feasibly get into is Mexico, and you can drive right in without showing so much as an ID.

There's so much talk about fake IDs but it would be so incredibly stupid and unnecessary for them to put themselves in a situation where they'd have to show any ID-real, fake, or otherwise.

I thought her EX mother in law lived across the street from VW's home where she helped to take care of her late Ex husband. I recall MSM saying she would see the EX having trouble getting out of a car and she would go over to help. ( this was from Thread 1 IIRC). IMO

A cash buyer should at least use a cashier's check to purchase the property. JMO

While I'm on the subject, can we please put Cuba to rest? I guess most of y'all haven't been there, but I have, and besides welcoming American tourist $, they don't really dig Americans! There is much derision towards the abandoned American embassy there, which projected propaganda via electronic billboard until the Cubans covered that with a display of dozens of Cuban flags. Everything is owned or heavily taxed and thus controlled by the government, Americans have to show their passports everywhere, not many people speak English, and there's very poor cellular data infrastructure. It's completely infeasible.

ETA: Cuba is a great country to visit, highly recommended, but I wouldn't advise trying to go on the run there.

I took it as the son (TW) lived across from the mother in law. And mother in law would see VW’s car when she was there.

Unless you walk, swim, boat or drive illegally across the Rio Grande, you need one of three docs to enter Mexico from Texas / the U.S.

SOURCE: Do You Need A Passport To Go To Mexico - US Citizens

Traveling By Land
"Do I need a passport to go to Mexico when traveling by land?"
When traveling to Mexico by land, you have a few options. Upon reaching the Mexico border, you can present your US passport, a passport card, or a SENTRI Card. Furthermore, minors don't have to show a passport. However, children under the age of 16 must have a birth certificate (or a naturalization certificate) to re-enter the United States.

  • What is a passport card?
A passport card is very similar to a passport book. The main benefit of a passport card is that it's less expensive and, unlike a passport book, can fit in your pocket. It includes your photo, name, nationality, date of birth, place of birth, issue and expiration dates, as well as your unique passport card number.

  • What is a SENTRI card?
SENTRI is short for Secure Electronic Network for Travelers Rapid Inspection (what a mouth full). It's a program that allows pre-approved, low-risk travelers to enter the United States with expedited clearance. Simply put, it makes border crossing faster when traveling back to the US. Quick note: You need an import permit for your vehicle when crossing the border zone in Mexico.

Deer season has been over in Bama for a while. Turkey season ended April 30. Lots of hunting camps in back woods not being used right now. Great places to hide. I would be interested to know if her ex or anyone she worked with has land they hunt. Plus with that AR and rifle they could supplement food with a deer or other critter. Fish. Etc. I know—I sound like a renegade episode of Naked and Afraid lol.

Much of our state is rural, especially where they were located. If she actually drove to visit him in Bessemer then it was at least a 3 hour drive each way. Bessemer is just outside Birmingham. As someone else suggested maybe she visited via video.

This makes me want to go back to college and major in Forensic Psychology!!
Welcome to WS and take me with you to Forensic Psychology class please :P

this case and many others on here have me seriously thinking of heading off to classes, even in my old age LOL
