We may never know but, with VW driving, it seems likelier to me, that CW might have been holding the gun and I wonder if the final swerve wasn't VW getting her finger on the trigger, pulling the gun away to shoot herself.

Could this all be a felony elopement? Maybe neither of them had designs on a future, a happily ever after, but wanted to die together, as husband and wife? Did their research fail them and a 4-day waiting period forced them to stay put?

If there's an afterlife as VW may have conceived of one, is she surprised to find herself there alone? Suicide pact denied.

What in the world was the end game? The thrill of it?

Abandoning a car in a roadway, another in a carwash bay, I don't get it. Breadcrumbs for LE? Was it a game? Why not abandon those vehicles in remote locations? They seem to have had the next car in place....

I hope, if there's a shred of decency in CW, he will lay their plot bare.

He's done enough damage.

So many casinos close. Wonder if the rest of the $$$ was blown there.

$29,000 left over. They purchased the Ford F-150, and no word on how they acquired the Cadillac.
That would not have lasted very long these days. Geesh…..
He just said Casey told police they were at the motel simply to lay low and figure out their next move…..so much for cabins and well-stocked RVs….

clarification of 14 day stay at hotel....he had paid for 14 days. So not nec. been there 14 days (IMO)

regarding "wife" comment by Casey, they say they were not married

They have been there for a week. So they had it paid for another week had they not got caught. Their plan was to have a shootout with both of them losing their lives.

He was not forcing her. He shows no remorse for her now.

He's not expressed any remorse for her death. He wasn't forcing her though.

They aren't going to charge him there.

I'm pretty sure it was Brian Entin's voice asking the question about whether the car wash guy will get the reward. Brian will certainly be his biggest advocate for getting it. He is the absolute best, when it comes to crime reporting, imo.

“Their plan was pretty faulty, the sheriff says, with a slight smirk. “They’re criminals.” Implication being, I think, that criminals make poor plans.

All my interpretation and hearing

If he was planning a shootout with police, why didn’t he shoot? It sounds like he willingly surrendered immediately after the crash. Maybe he was a little freaked out by her shooting herself?

CW had some bumps and bruises from the crash.

So, based on the press conference...

-- Vicky and Casey had a small cadre of weapons at their disposal. According to the sheriff, Casey intended there to be a shoot-out with law enforcement if they had not t-boned the Cadillac.

-- $29,000 was found in the car. Unclear if there was any money in the motel room. Early reports were that Vicky had at least $95,000 with her when she and Casey left Alabama. So, how did they burn through more than $60,000 in less than two weeks? Purchasing three vehicles and pre-paying for 14 days at a run-down motel wouldn't account for that much.

-- There was no grand plan. According to Casey, the pair pre-paid for the motel room and were using that time to decide what to do. So, it appears they were just going day-to-day as their time on the run continued.

Wow, did they really blow through $61k in 10 days? Even estimating $20k for vehicles, that’s a lot of money

CW no remorse over VW death was ready for shoot out.

So they said that she purchased the F150 after the escape.

Who the hell sold them the car and how much did they pay that person to keep their mouth shut?

Also had the thought that VW may have been depressed and suicidal from the outset, and maybe the whole thing which began April 29 was just a slow suicide which took 11 days to complete.
I think when vw met cw she was just lonely then when her ex died I think that’s when she started the planning she didn’t want to be alone , but I’m really wondering if vw was Sick and that made her more desperate not to be alone to be happy no matter how short the time . But i think the ex’s death was the start of the planning jmoo
