I keep thinking about the missing money. Certainly, by now, LE has gone over Vicky and Casey's motel room with a fine-toothed comb. Over $60,000 is missing...or Vicky White didn't actually bring that much along with her from Alabama.

If the pair was down to $29,000...that wouldn't last long, considering the cost of shelter, food, toiletries, and unplanned-for medical costs. Vicky had to have been alarmed at how little she had remaining...even if the thought hadn't occurred to Casey.

No. The Cadillac was one she stole while he was waiting inside the car wash bay in Illinois with the truck. The truck has Alabama plates; it's the vehicle they stole to replace the orange one.
I don't think they were ever in Illinois.

This may be frowned upon, but the saddest part of this whole thing to me, is hearing in the press conference that he had no remorse for her death.

<modsnip- quoted post was removed>
It just seems like a deep psychological conflict to take a job overseeing prisoners and assisting LE if you internally carry hate or derision for their contribution to society.

Just my "lay person psychology" - I personally would find that conflicting. But I've never been in love with a convicted felon so my point of view is from the outside looking in.

No doubt I'm missing some insight into this motivations and actions of the players in this case. But for some reason it intrigues me more than other cases have.

Coming from TN they would have went through KY. At least thats how we get to and from TN to IN.

LE stated that none of the vehicles they used were stolen. They had apparently bought all three of them. And the car wash is in Indiana.

He found her weak spot and played on it. Once she started giving him extra privilege's he owned her.

He’s a con artist stabbed a woman to death. No conscience. Only cares about himself. Afraid to stay in Indiana? Wants to go home to Alabama. He is a monster

He was not forcing her. He shows no remorse for her now.
I watched the presser, but it was hard to hear at times. Did the sheriff say outright that CW had no remorse? Wow. Great guy.

We don't know that. We only know what the sheriff stated about CW's remarks and demeanor. Casey has spent his life avoiding or not having the capacity for empathy and deep caring, IMO. But that's just an opinion. He may cry himself to sleep every night. How would we know?

definitely the case in my world, as well. I do talk about Websleuths often with my buds... lol.... but not a one of them has had the same interest as me. They tease me! But I always claim I learn so much!!! Which I do. I was rather shocked, however, that most of my friends/relatives were unaware of the Alabama case. I suspect they might know now though!
Isn't it amazing to have such an interest in True Crime and few to share it with IRL, which doesn't really stop me ;)

Hi Wary, good point about the truck being reported by media as stolen.
Mr Stinson is an Angel for not giving up on reporting to Law Enforcement.

He stated that the keys were in the truck and it started. The two leaving that truck the way that they did at the car wash is bizarre. Sticking out of the car wash bay. Just truly bizarre.

Since leaving keys in vehicles in carwash bays is fairly common, maybe they were hoping someone would steal the truck. Having it stick out of the bay was dangling a carrot in front of a thief. If the cops were onto them by that time, then some other person was going to deal with the backlash of driving a vehicle identified as belonging to two armed and dangerous indviduals. It would give them a head start in the Cadillac. MOO

Yes no remorse at all. Probably mad the plan failed and blames her.

When CW is extradited back to Alabama and taken back to prison I'm curious if he will be praised by other inmates.
I don't think he'll be hanging with the same "prison buddies" he recently spent time with but your point is well taken. A certain amount of infamy will follow him.

Has it been confirmed anywhere why VW was calling 911 just before the crash?

Snap out of it LOL
Actually, I think that's a thought. If they had a jailhouse relationship maybe she thought more of it and surprised him with "Guess what? I'm going to be your hero and spring you."

VW autopsy is this afternoon, questions should be answered after that. Did they give a time for next presser?

Had a 14 day stay at Motel 6. So they were planning on staying in Evansville awhile. Why?
I can't explain why they thought they could stay for 2 weeks, and not be recognized by hotel staff or grocery store staff, or whoever. Maybe they thought, that once they'd escaped the South, they'd be a bit more anonymous. But surely they'd have checked the news on the TV in their hotel room...

But as to why hole up in a hotel even for a few days, I'd say, that after an intense, adrenaline-filled escape from the jail, involving a car breakdown within the first hour or so, acquiring another vehicle, then later, switching cars yet again (to throw off LE?), they may have wanted a break to decompress from all of that. But to opt for a 2-week pre-paid stay at a Motel 6, Idk: they may have either been overconfident about not being recognized, or were fed up with having to keep moving, keep figuring out ruses, etc. Or maybe just wanted something resembling normalcy for a bit, and decided not to worry about being spotted.

This makes me want to think twice before staying at any Motel 6's on my road trips!
