We see cases from all over the world about pen pal communication between prisoners and fans or girlfriends. Sometimes they get married and have conyugal right, children are born.

Given the ease with which Vicki handled the initial escape ,nobody was checking her, she could have found reasons for CW to be in her Office.

Probably she could have done whatever and nobody in authority would have noticed.

I've listened to the audio over and over and can make out some of what has been confirmed by you guys that you also heard...but, I have not heard a gunshot. Has anyone? That would surely be very distinct.

At 12 seconds in the audio, you can distinctly hear an airbag deploying. At 22 seconds, you can hear another airbag deploying as she is speaking. At 26 seconds, there is another sound that is a bit louder than the previous two, and I cannot decide if that is yet another airbag deploying closer to her phone, or whether that is a gunshot. It doesn't sound loud enough to be a gunshot to me, and you can hear her making gasping noises for a couple seconds after that, but I can't be sure. I am wondering if the gunshot was edited out, as the audio goes silent for a few seconds. LInk is below, what do you think?

I think something similar ie. if she was holding the gun and the vehicle was rammed into by LE, she accidentally fell forward or whatever and the gun went off. I don‘t think LE would like to be blamed indirectly for her death.

Or, the theory you suggested that CW landed on her somehow and caused the gun to discharge. From the conversation prior on the 911 call, VW didn’t seem suicidal but was worried about the situation and air bags releasing. Additionally, could the air bags have hit her in a way that caused the gun to fire?

However, CW stated to LE, as previously cited on here, that it was always VW’s plan to shoot herself if it appeared she would be captured. I guess we will really never know.

Anything is possible considering all the variables. People have been killed by airbags, especially front airbags. I don't know how many times the sheriff or marshall vehicles rammed the Cadillac but each time they did an airbag propably deployed. They can sound like gunshots. That's why VW was talking about the air bags going off while they were still driving. I could see at least two LE pick up trucks with crumpled front fenders nose first in the ditch.

The only things that aren't part of the speculation, IMO, are VW consciously deciding to commit suicide. Or that CW got the gun shot her and put it back in her hand. Everything was just chaos at that moment.

I visualize both of them smushed together in the passenger seat, CW on top of VW. It's hard to tell how much time elapsed between the actual roll over and when CW was removed from the car through the driver's window. Considering his height and weight he may have stood on VW when being pulled out the vehicle.

I don't understand their plan. It's like the adrenal rush through the initial stages of the escape kept them focused but as the days wore on the actual logistics of remaining free became too difficult and their focus dissipated and they got sloppy. Even though no one but Vicky died there is a lot of collateral damage to other people. The only good thing to come out of this whole debacle is that a complete review of the jail protocols are investigated with a fine tooth comb. There should terminations because of it.

I'd love to post a link, but I can't find it either. At one point on Find a Grave, her family members were listed, but when I went back only her ex husband Tommy is listed. So I apologize for posting that she'd been married twice. Obviously I misread something cause I sure didn't make it up! I even checked to see if the name could be related to one of the aliases she used. I'll go back and edit my post or get a mod to fix it. I really am sorry. And embarrassed.

This is four tough ones in a row I have followed, Naomi Irion, Orsolya Gaal, little Lily Peters, which was especially heartbreaking, and now this one. Now that I have retired, I have more time to devote here, but I am not sure I can handle another one for a while. Take care of you!

I agree with you. Those 3 loud sounds, I think the last is probably the point of the shot. And I thought I heard some low breathing after. At one point I also thought I heard a scream. Did you hear that?

I think that what sounds like screaming are actually the sirens approaching. For some reason the recording only captures them intermittently, maybe because they are too far from the mic of whatever is recording. MOO

This may only be understood by fellow gamers, but here goes.

Say you're on level 12 of the game, which is a jailbreak. You play that level for a long time. You figure out all the angles, how to beat it. And you become an expert and ultimately win it.

Okay, great. But now you're on level 13. Different environment. Different variables. Different everything. It's a whole new game at that point. While you may have been perfectly equipped to defeat level 12, you are completely out of your element in level 13. I think neither VW or CW was prepared to deal with level 13. IMO

ETA: And not only that. Up until now you have been playing this game completely solo. But now, on level 13, you suddenly gain a gaming partner. That creates all kinds of additional variables you have absolutely no control over. It generally takes awhile for the new partnership to become functional and successful.

I am glad that we are allowed freedom to express especially since our family and friends do not get why we spend time on this website thereby our need to have this kind of outlet during and in the aftermath.
