Agreed. Never in a million years would I have hugged an inmate. I'd probably have been fired on the spot. I don't hug patients either.
I don't know what her educational opportunities were, but I think a career in social work or nursing would have been a better fit for her.
<snipped for focus>

Professionals such as nurses and social workers receive training regarding boundaries and appropriate relationships with their patients and clients during their clinical internships and agency placements throughout their university studies. So I doubt these fields would have been a better fit for VW.

I only made the connection through one people search website. If you need the link, msg me. I have noticed the name repetitions, too. These are both common last names so maybe there are shared distant relations. I don't know.
Thanks! I attribute it to being a tight community. One where people meet their spouses through in-laws of relatives and such. MOO

I am well aware of the official inmate correctional services release procedures. I have professional experience in that regard. :) Kinda playing the devils advocate here. But, I maintain that a good defence lawyer may be able to work it.

Good response on your post though :)

I think you're right, a good defence lawyer will, no doubt, pursue this avenue of thinking.

This is exactly what I heard on the audio. Nothing more nothing less. Other sounds were static, sirens and noise. No discernable verbiage. MO
100% agree.

I wasn't about to touch that one, so glad you did. You said what I wanted to say, without making it sound like snark. Thank you. JMO

Ditto.

I think she thought this would end like Romeo and Juliet. Willing to die for and with her. Except Romeo was such a coward all he could do was wave his hands out the window and hope they didnt shoot him. She did all this for nothing. And he told them he wanted to go back to AL. So he is home. She is dead. jmo.
If she thought that she had illusions of grandeur didn't she???

My opinion after listening to the last audio of vicki is she did not commit suicide. Audio doesnt match suicide. I feel strongly about that. I believe he was driving also. She told him to stop several times. Why would she sternly say stop to him? If he wasnt driving then what did she want him to stop? Now remember, his ex wife or girlfriend that suposedly committed suicide by shotgun to chest they are looking at that death as possibly not suicide. When at the time of shooting they believed it was def suicide.
There are some very serious allegations against CW, who is already serving time. However, allegations are not the same as convictions.

Despite his criminal history, which is frightening & terrible, until he is convicted in the 2008 death of his ex-girlfriend or the killing of Connie Ridgeway, we cannot assume he is responsible for those deaths. It does look bad though, I agree.

He has been called a murderer in the media repeatedly and was convicted of attempted murder, but I'm not sure which victim that is for (maybe the woman he shot in the attempted carjacking?).

The ME says VW committed suicide. Personally, I don't find the audio non-supportive of that. Each of us has a right to interpret those recordings in any way we choose.

But facts are facts. This case is impacted by a lot of runaway emotion. I know I've gotten emotionally involved. But again, facts are facts. The justice system needs to be allowed to work here before we paint Casey as a serial killer, IMO.

Maybe he is. If so, he is already restricted from society again(!) for a very long time, thank goodness.

Just my humble opinion

From the above...
“She did not call 911, the car called 911 and just picked up the conversation. It was sort of difficult to listen to,” said Singleton.

This is what many of us have thought all along, If true, it does dispel any notion some had, even some media, that VW had called 9-1-1 and engaged in any conversation with them. JMO
I thought so too and stated back a ways that either the car called or perhaps maybe an Apple Watch. Good to see it verified. It’s obvious she was speaking to CW and never acknowledged the 911 operator.

Seems Casey has much experience with carjacking so Vicky's car rotations may have saved others from harm. CW's yet to be prosecuted for his 2015 crimes in TN:

Imagine hearing her talk like that - still trying to find a way to evade LE and get them both back on the escape path. She kind of incriminated herself without even knowing. And they/we all got to hear her last words.

Wait. Isn't he serving a 75-year sentence on the 2015 charges? I thought he was convicted in 2019 on these charges. This article seems to support my understanding:

Thank you to anyone who can clarify the facts.

It doesn't help that some of the many (and conflicting) media reports on this case have referred to him as a convicted murderer, even though that is a false statement as of now.

I don't recall which article I saw made this mistake, so MOO...

Have those charges been adjudicated?

Beating his ‘male relative,’ has been adjudicated. He received 6 years for it. (I haven’t heard if it was his brother, or some other relative.) He was out in time to commit his big crime spree in 2015, so I assume he got lots of time off for good behavior. This conviction may have influenced his 2015 sentencing, in my opinion.

MOO

Even the sheriff in Evansville called him a murderer in the press conference after the capture. How very irresponsible. See that at about minute 4:30:

You can take the bad guys off the streets without libeling them. MOO

You are correct. However, CR's murder also took place in 2015, a month or two before that crime spree IIRC. Maybe it is that crime OP was referring to. Moo.
ETA: Oh! I was wrong. @Seattle1 is correct. From your link:
"In 2019, White was convicted on multiple charges over the rampage including the attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend.

He was sentenced to 75 years in prison.

He is still facing charges in Tennessee over the spree."

I think that he was convicted of his Alabama crimes, (attack on his ex-girlfriend and her two roommates, etc.) But I think he hasn’t been tried yet for Tennessee carjackings.

Apologies in advance for my frivolity, but we need a scorecard.

He got 6 years in state prison for the assault on a male relative (brother or BIL, it's not clear to me) with an ax handle. That was in 2010. He got out of state prison in 2014, and then did the crime spree in 2015. I don't know the outcome of the incident with his mother in 2006. IMO
