Yes, the Sheriff said she committed a terrible security breach because she knew legally she had to have 2 deputies accompanying her to transport this inmate. I can’t find the link at the moment, but articles with that quote have been posted upthread numerous times.
Here it is

A warrant was issued for Vicky's arrest on charges of permitting or allowing an escape. She is not related to Casey White.

She violated a policy that required more than one official to be involved in transporting him, according to Singleton. The policy was put in place when Casey White was jailed two years ago, and authorities believed he was planning to escape.

Has someone said the shot was to her forehead? That wasn’t part of the released info. Someone (last night) mentioned that it sounded like the officers who took her out of the car said there was an exit wound on the top of her head. I had a hard time understanding much of the recording from the audio file, but it’s somewhat easier in the video for some reason.

I’m not a medical examiner of course and did not see her afterwards. Saying “let’s get out and run” and what sounds like a desire to get back to the hotel does not sound suicidal, and it feels possible that the crash caused her finger to close on the trigger.

I suppose there’s definitive reason to believe it was intentional.

I thought it was said the gunshot could be heard after the crash, after LE had taken CW out of the car. That would make it more obviously intentional. JMO

I have a hard time believing he has loving emotions for any woman when he's soon going to trial for the stabbing death of Connie Ridgeway. She was a kind, elderly woman who helped her neighbors. LE believes he was paid to kill her.

CW is pleading not guilty by reason of mental illness for Connie Ridgways murder. Its possible some of his recent comments and actions during his escape are related to his need to keep up the appearance of someone who is mentally ill. JMO
Also this:

Federal and local law enforcement officials have also learned Casey White threatened to kill his former girlfriend and his sister in 2015 and said, "that he wanted police to kill him," the Marshals Service said. Investigators said they have been in contact with them about the threats and are taking measures to ensure their safety.

They offered a homeless man cash to book them a room for two weeks, only about half of which they got to enjoy, according to the sheriff.

It hasn’t been confirmed what model of the Cadillac was, but I asked my partner who is a car aficionado and he said that it is probably from between 2005 and 2010. OnStar wasn’t added to Cadillacs until 2015, so it’s unlikely it had it (assuming it is a 2005-2010 model).
You're most likely correct about the age of the vehicle and maybe being before Onstar. Could there be something else in a Cadillac that would trigger a 911 call? Some brands have their own roadside assistance technology.

DH has a car that dings and asks him if he needs a break, and shows a cup of coffee, when and if he hits a bump in the road or moves over too far in the lane. Not sure exactly when technology of this sort began to be incorporated into vehicles.

Ms. White and Mr. White had been in a relationship for at least two years, according to Sheriff Singleton, who said they met briefly in 2020 when Mr. White was in Lauderdale County for an arraignment before heading back to state prison.

Ms. White had recently decided to retire, and the escape occurred on her last day of work. Sheriff Singleton said it was unusual for someone her age, 56, to retire four years before her retirement benefits would become available.
To me the question of her retirement benefits and whether she withdrew money from them before her crime(s) is unsettled.

The sheriff may be right. The sheriff may be wrong.

The date at which one can withdraw from IRAs without penalty is 59.5. Many people retire when years of service make them eligible. But each plan's rules are different.

Her mentality at the time appears to me to have been an "end game" of liquidating whatever she possibly could.

I would be interested in knowing what the facts are regarding her retirement funds. IMO it would help a criminologist better understand her state of mind.

She wasn't planning ahead at all and knew this adventure would be a short one. What was she going to do when the money ran out? Probably not easy to get a job under a fake name and she should have known this would go national. Seems she was willing to trade her life for 5 minutes with this guy. There are limits on love and no guy is worth dying for. jmo. WTH was she thinking?

Would someone be able to transcribe this? I can literally not understand anything besides something with airbags.
This is what I hear:
My God…..Please stop….The airbags are going to go off and kill us…Casey…oh my God….the air bags are going off, let’s get out and run….. let’s go back to the f-ing hotel.

I hear someone who has realized the severity of the situation. Yes she should have know it would come to this but I hear lots of stress in her voice. I am not surprised with her last minute decision to shoot herself. MOO MOO

At one time or another most everyone dreams of running away from real life. I have come to believe that she did not plan anything except to RUN.

To me, her actions are those of a person at the end of their tether, not someone planning a new life. Can I explain why she would be in that mental state? No.

But on Monday when they were determined to have only made it to Evansville, Indiana, I came to believe that RUNNING with this man was as far as her plan went.

I'm sure there are reasons. I'm not convinced any of them were rational.

I’m searching for which news said it was the forehead. Everything happened so fast and things were said and then changed ( like who was driving) hopefully I can find it. The autopsy report will state what part of the head it was but that has not been released yet that I know of.

You have clearly expressed what I heard and believe, too.

I believe there's 2 calls that are being said were 911 calls. I think the one out that most are refering to is not a 911 call, that is the pursuing law enforcement that was able to make contact. The very first 911 call I heard was a woman dispatcher. Anyone else hear that call with the woman dispatcher ? She repeats a couple times that VW has her finger on the trigger ?

Once the Cadillac entered an open field adjacent to the parking lot, one of the pursuing law enforcement vehicles made contact with the Whites’ Cadillac in order to prevent them from fleeing any further. The Cadillac came to rest in a ditch near the roadway. It was at that time that a single shot was fired originating within the Cadillac causing serious injury to Vicky White.

I agree.

I noticed that he kept looking back as well. He did seem concerned, and I heard him say something like, “check on my wife”.

To me, CW appeared to be looking behind him and down at the officers as they worked with his cuffed hands, and not back at the wreck. He was talking a lot at that point, to both of the officers, but I doubt we will hear (officially anyway) exactly what was said.

My perception only.

I was not familiar with the term agonal breathing, which was mentioned by LE in a video, so I looked it up.

Agonal breathing is when someone who is not getting enough oxygen is gasping for air. It is usually due to cardiac arrest or stroke. It's not true breathing. It's a natural reflex that happens when your brain is not getting the oxygen it needs to survive. Agonal breathing is a sign that a person is near death.

On what are you basing the "four more years"? A pension plan and a 401k are usually separate entities. Do we have proof of what funds she had contributed to, how much and rules of withdrawal?

Until someone in HR with her employer clarifies all this, I find no merit in debating it.

Respectfully, IMOO.
The state funds her pension, not VW herself. State pension requires full retirement age, so she was four years short of attaining this.

While Vicky White had planned to retire, her termination will cost her state-funded contributions to her pension, Singleton said.

It is mentioned at this link:

After listening to the audio several times…..in the beginning, there’s a man saying”911??” Then ”hello?” This does not sound like a dispatcher, its probably CW. Then you can hear Vicky saying “the airbags gonna go off, probably gonna kill us.” She then says “Casey…” then “these airbags are going off, lets get out and run”, then “back to the hotel”. Then there is a mishmash of sound, leading up to crash sounds. Think they covered the actual gunshot sound, because following the crashing noises, you hear them in the car with her, saying, finger on the trigger, she’s breathing……just agonal though.

"in the begining there is a man saying 911 and then hello". This has me confused. it seems to me that this might have been a spontaneous connection to 911. (maybe that Apple Watch as someone mentioned???) I just don't hear any real dialogue with the 911 dispatcher at all.

I teach CPR classes for American Heart Association, and during class we show a video that demonstrates agonal breathing.

We want class participants to be able to recognize agonal breathing because sometimes people delay providing CPR because they think the victim is breathing.

As we say in class: “Agonal breathing is not breathing. Begin CPR.”
