Interesting that CW was serving time for his 2015 crime spree originally at VW’s jail, then got caught having an escape plan, sent to State prison, then comes forward and confesses to a murder knowing he’ll be moved back to VW’s County jail to await trial.
He was just transferred back in February. Didn’t her ex husband pass away in January?
Hard to know how long they were planning this latest escape JMO

Casey White previously planned an escape from the Lauderdale County Detention Center in the fall of 2020, but officials thwarted the plot before he could attempt it, Singleton said. When officials got word of the plot, they found a homemade knife in his possession and learned that he was planning to take a hostage, the sheriff said.

Casey White was subsequently transferred to a state prison, where he remained until February 2022, when he returned to the Lauderdale County facility for court appearances related to Ridgeway's murder, the sheriff said.

Could it be that VW had such a plain Jane lifestyle and always took care of inmates. ex. Mom and mom in law that she wanted freedom and excitement at any cost and CW was it? Caretaker burnout? She seemed the one who took control. Of course CW helped by wooing her. Lonely heart? Suicide can be in a second. It doesn’t even have to be planned.
I do believe she had caretaker burnout, excellent point and expression.

According to Ashley Banfield's interview with Sheriff Wedding of Indiana (posted above from New Nation), the Sheriff said their was nothing of interest left at the motel, that everything was in their car, and that when they left the motel the day they were apprehended, they were not planning on returning to the motel.

Banfield followed up with the question as to why they would pay for 14 days and leave before then, and the Sheriff said something to the effect of "they were blowing money left and right, and why would they care if they paid for 14 days and left before then, for whatever reason they had decided to leave that day and time."
Thanks, I get the picture now….they maybe paid for 14 days in case they needed it, but after 6 were getting antsy about the truck under the alias. So began taking steps to move on….

Because of the camping equipment I now believe they were headed to Canada, and were in fact planning to fight to survive unapprehended, and have a future together. Their downfall: They made mistakes in a scenario where there was no margin for error.

I do wonder if she was helping him with the "planned escape" in the fall of 2020 and that was their original plan to be together. But once he got caught they had to regroup? JMO

It's so interesting to hear her voice in her last minutes.
Yes, you really get a feel for her fear, her desperation— even her passion for Casey, when she says his name.

I think at this point it’s quite possible.
What were the details of that first attempt?
EDIT: Never mind, I just read them in a post above!

Leads me to believe CW and VW were equally “in love” from the getgo.

She may have been the "hostage" he was going to take. Then she would have been the victim and not the criminal...just my opinion.

The cars were moving too fast and there was enough tinting of the window to see who, for sure, was driving the Cadillac and who was the passenger. I've heard that Vicky was driving...and I've heard that Casey was driving.

I think CW was definitely driving. In the 911 call CW was pleading for him to stop.

In the 911 audio around 21 seconds, right after she says something about going back to the hotel, it’s sounds like Casey says “babe I think this is it.”
MOO
Just jumping off of your post, but I'm wondering if anyone here at WS has the ability to clean up and slow down the audio of the actual 911 call? If not, maybe a YouTuber or someone will. I would like to try to hear more clearly to see if we can hear any Casey at all. The man at the beginning, IMO, is definitely the dispatcher. I say that because Casey seems to have a more high pitched voice with a thick accent. Plus, he was in a pursuit - no way was he talking that calm and collected in that moment, not to mention it is the only loud and clear voice we hear.

I have followed this since the very beginning, it has been worldwide news. It seemed at the start that this was something thought out carefully, calculated, and with forethought especially in addition to the 'test escape' and it was the last day of her career.

Her state of mind was questionable from the beginning from a lot of us, why throw away everything, an impeccable work record, and a good life too, for this outcome one would wonder? Either way, I do feel sorry for her but am glad that no one innocent was physically hurt ...except of course her loved ones who will never have answers, I feel for them too. I feel this is how she knew it would end and wanted this ending. May her soul rest in peace.

My own opinion.

How did Casey get grazed by a bullet if she shot herself in the head?
IMO the shot and the crash happened either simultaneously or one immediately after the other, so he maybe thought his injuries were from that instead of the wreck itself?

If you are talking about the 7:20 9-1-1 call that many think was initiated by OnStar, it is embedded in the link below. Beside the speaker icon, there are three verticle dots. If you click on those, you can adjust the speed. If you go to .50, things go too slowly to be understood, but at .75 speed, things said are much clearer. JMO

You mean with her secret consent?

Yes, that is the one. I still would like to hear a more cleaned up version - I'm sure someone will eventually do it but thanks for the tip!

I am sure that an enhanced version will find its way into the public soon enough, but just slowing it down does help somewhat.
