The missing child's mother stated that she picked up a male stranger in the I-65 Service Road and later in the day went to Burlington Coat Factory, 3168 Airport Blvd. with him and her 5 week old child. While in the store she asked the male to take the child to her vehicle and wait for her. When she exited the store, the male, her vehicle, and her child were gone.

That doesn’t sound hinky at all o_O, (sarcasm). I’d like to give her benefit of the doubt but I think I’m pretty jaded. How is the clothing unknown?

The article also states this happened around 3 PM this afternoon, wonder when it was reported? I received the first of AA on my cell at 10:18 PM

I know, right? Clothing unknown.

Yeah, because it's totally normal to pick up a complete stranger and ask them to watch your newborn baby in your car while you shop.

Surely Burlington has CCTV and it would be easy to verify some of this. Geez.

Extremely sketchy! I wonder what really happened to that precious baby. This doesn’t sound good at all.

I don't have a good feeling about this.

The story does sort of have a Casey Anthony vibe to it and we all know how that turned out. :(

Per WKRG suspect is:

Suspect: white male, approximately 30 years of age, approximately 6'6" tall, red hair, wearing a red t-shirt, possibly named "Shaun"

Reporter stated she believes mother reported incident as soon as she realized baby was gone ... but not sure if she waited or not...

Wow.....Mom's story makes no sense. But LE needs to cover all bases so an Amber Alert had to be issued.

That poor tiny baby girl.

Per WKRG suspect is:

Well, if there isn't really a stranger involved, I give mom credit for the unique description.

Let's see, did she also give this stranger the keys to her vehicle too? What is going on, these are innocent babies and children. No, no, no. A mother does not hand her infant to a stranger.

Totally agree. By now LE must know if there really was a tall, red haired man with her.

Because of the non-generic suspect description, I have hope the abduction is true. (Not that abduction is good, but it is better than the alternative of the reasons why mom would lie.) However, I think the mom probably knows the man and not through church.

So, we've got pick up a stranger, take the stranger coat-shopping with you, hand the baby to the stranger with your car keys and ask him to take the baby to the car. The stranger puts the baby in the car and drives off with both.

Was the baby in a stroller? Did the stranger take the baby from the stroller and then put her into a car seat, or was the baby being carried around the coat store?

Have they released CCTV footage of "Shaun" from the store?
