Oh thank God!!! I couldn't stand to read about another dead baby. Now hopefully it will be a LONG time before she goes back to her mother. I mean, mom might not be abusive but she was very neglectful IMO to give her baby to a stranger. She may be overwhelmed and in need of someone to help her or some parenting classes or something. I wonder if she has some postpartum depression going on? And if the story she told is not what happened at all, then I can't understand why she would think that story would be a better story than whatever DID happen...
I'm just so happy baby girl is alive!

I hope we learn what really happened. I wonder if it was a friend that had the baby and the car and mom claimed stranger so LE would put more into the search.

Grateful the little sweetheart is found safe and sound. I literally am saying thank you to whoever took her, that they didn't harm or kill her. That said, LE has their work cut out for them, figuring this one out. I can't imagine a boyfriend on the side taking off with an infant, unless he thought the baby was his and wanted to keep her. Maybe this woman was passing off the child as the husband's?

Thank you. I'm sure it is the man that took the baby and the car, but I wonder if the mother will be arrested, too? That was negligent and just plain stupid, if that story of hers is true. Although, with some of today's mothers, I wouldn't be surprised if it was the truth.

Arrest made after 7-week-old baby goes missing, found safe

Mobile Police say 35-year-old John Bettancoure has been arrested after a 7-week-old baby went missing out of Mobile.

ETA: Looks quite tall standing next to officers.

BREAKING: Suspect arrested in connection to Amber Alert for 7-week old girl
35-year-old John Bettancoure has been arrested in connection to the Amber Alert issued for a 7-week-old Christiana Hagler, according to Mobile Police. Bettancoure has been charged with interfering with custody.

Mobile Police say the child is in the custody of DHR. Police say the mother was being held in Burlington Coat Factory on an allegation that she was shoplifting and gave the child to Bettancoure to take care of her until she got out of the store. New 5 is working to find out more information.

He definitely fits the description. Was he really a stranger to her? Why did she pick him up? Is there a history of drug use? This is all so bizarre!
