Agree. Is DW's story completely understandable? No. Is DW's timeline completely perfect to the minute? No. Did DW share everything with JDT that he shared with LE? IMO No and I think the VI might have verified this statement.
Whatever the 'holes' in the DW story and timeline, the reason he was driving a rental car that had to be returned at 1 pm, why he and DNV were in the area of the Shell station to begin with etc. I think sometimes its easier to look at what someone did rather than what they might have said about what they did.
@otto I think made this point clear when the issue of the phone came up for discussion.
DW left the Shell station to get the phone at Dublin's. We don't know why he did this yet but he did. He didn't toss the phone which he could have. He made a good effort to get the phone back to DNV. He called JDT. He returned the phone to police if I recall or gave it to JDT who then gave it to police. I honestly don't see DW as a bad actor here. I question not circling back to find DNV if she were driving impaired and he knew this but other than this issue DW had a key piece of evidence in this case and got it to where it needed to be, the MPD.
Thanks
@otto for so clearly making this point as I think its moved us along in our understanding of what might have happened that night.
