I don’t know what’s weirder, the planetary alignment site, or a PO-PO “blog” that you have to submit entries for approval? That’s a far cry from the findingmollie site the Feds set up
If the police want tips, call or email the tip line. Don’t hope your post with your name gets “approved”
And I find it sad that the fb group is so small, and the 🤬🤬🤬 so unsuccessful. Trolls be damned, id want an open “page” or group

Absolutely agree. But the baby I believe was adopted at birth and so she wasn't involved with the usual no sleep routine associated with newborns. Perhaps the VI will pop in and address this issue as I think it would be helpful to understand how DNV might have been feeling at this point post baby delivery.

I’m like 30 pages behind, but with all the “confusion” being passed around, could DNV been a surrogate and carrying the baby for a family, hence the influx of cash and the seemingly non discussion about giving birth??? After seeing all the facts come out, it wouldn’t surprise me, she seems like th type of person who would complete this selfless act to make her daughters life better.

OnStar Manual (Generation 6) - 2014 Chevy Cruze
Please note without knowing the VIN of DNV Vehicle it is a guess as to which Generation OnStar is applicable to her vehicle. GM Customer service said that 2014 Chevy Cruze could be either Generation 6 or 7 OnStar. Differences in terms of accuracy of GPS wouldn't necessarily differ depending on Generation but each additional generation adds user services to the platform (current generation is 10).

Short version info: GPS positional accuracy is a function of satellite signal strength and any potential obstructions due to location (i.e, tunnel or urban area with tall buildings etc.), weather (heat/cold/cloud cover etc.), radio frequency signal interference and cellular service quality. In general assuming good signal strength and weather and no interference from other signals then GPS in the US is accurate to within 30 ft. LE has special capabilities to use GPS with greater accuracy to within 10 ft.

Here is full manual: https://www.onstarfulfillment.com/pdf/EN_OnStar_Gen6_Manual.pdf

Here is excerpt covering GPS from Generation 6 manual:

GPS Issues

Global Positioning System

Vehicle positioning information is normally relayed to the OnStar Call Center when the OnStar button is pressed, during air bag deployments, or during Emergency Service button requests from the vehicle. Information about you, your vehicle, or your vehicle’s location may be used to administer OnStar services and respond to legal requirements or legal process.

OnStar Information Page 33

Positioning Capability Degraded if Satellite Signals Are Obstructed

Vehicle position is determined by receiving and interpreting signals transmitted by satellites. If the signals are obstructed, positioning capability could be degraded or lost. This situation would be most prevalent in urban areas where tall buildings are located. Tunnels, underpasses, parking garages, trees, and similar structures could also adversely affect positioning performance. Under these conditions, the system will operate but the OnStar Call Center could have difficulty identifying your current location. The last valid position obtained before the obstruction is retained, however, and can be sent. The OnStar Advisor may depend on you to provide verbal information regarding your vehicle’s location if such an obstruction of the satellites occurs.

Communications Issues

Privacy

Users of wireless communications are cautioned that the privacy of any information sent via wireless cellular communications cannot be assured. Third parties may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions and private communications without your consent.

Inoperative if Cellular Signal Is Marginal or Unavailable

Since OnStar uses the cellular technology for communication with the OnStar Call Center, it can only be operated in geographic areas where cellular coverage is available. Although nearly all of the North American population lives and works in cellular coverage areas, there are various rural and mountainous areas where coverage is marginal or does not exist. Cellular service is also subject to transmission limitations

Page 34 OnStar Information

caused by atmospheric conditions. OnStar service is only available in the 48 contiguous states, Hawaii, Alaska, and Canada. If a request for service occurs outside of these areas, communications may not be available, and the OnStar Advisor may not be able to help you.

Inoperative if Communications Service Is Inactive or Inoperative

OnStar uses a dedicated cellular communications service and will not operate if, for some reason, a cellular carrier has deactivated cellular service.

Inoperative if Cellular System Is Busy

In any area, the local cellular system can only handle a limited number of cellular calls at a given time. Once volume has reached the maximum limit, additional callers are denied access. If this situation occurs when an OnStar request for services is made, the OnStar system will automatically redial (a few times for an OnStar request for services or indefinitely for an Emergency button press).

Phone Operation at Temperature Extremes

In rare conditions the OnStar system may be exposed to extreme temperatures. If extreme temperatures are experienced during an emergency situation, the system will attempt a full power call for the prescribed period of time. During these times, the phone may not be capable of transmitting at full power when used for OnStar Personal Calling. Additionally, call quality may be slightly degraded at extreme hot or cold temperatures above 60 degrees Celsius (140 degrees Fahrenheit) or below -30 degrees Celsius (-22 degrees Fahrenheit).

OnStar Information Page 35

Radio Frequency Interference

The OnStar system is a radio communications system. The proximity to other radio signals created by other electrical devices may adversely affect the performance of the OnStar system.

Blasting Areas

The OnStar system incorporates a cellular wireless device. Observe restrictions and follow any regulations or rules.

Vehicle and Power Issues

Inoperative if Battery Is Discharged or Disconnected

OnStar is powered by your vehicle’s battery and will not operate if the battery is discharged or disconnected.

Potentially Inoperative if Vehicle Is in an Accident

If your vehicle is in an accident, some components could be damaged or disconnected, potentially rendering OnStar inoperative.

Add-On Electrical Equipment

The OnStar system is integrated into the electrical architecture of the vehicle. Do not add any electrical equipment (e.g., two-way mobile radio, CB radio, etc.) to your vehicle unless you check with your dealer first. Added electrical equipment may interfere with the operation of the OnStar system. Any damage would not be covered by your warranty.

I doubt this, but she could have been incapacitated. If the goal was the car, I doubt she was killed in it.

RSBM

There are a lot of assumptions here, otto. We don't know Car 3 did it. If this was a theft, the perp will not only immediately disable any tracking device (they know a lot about the makes/models they steal) but may not have any qualms about pistol-whipping, raping, selling or otherwise eliminating the driver. Consider the kind of individual who is in a gang, has probably served time and may also have a drug habit. It is possible Danni has just been abducted, or is being trafficked, or died by accident when they stuck her in the trunk or hit her over the head etc.

According to Carfax, Chevy Cruze are in the top 10 most stolen car in America, IMO because they are similar to a Honda Civic, which is the most stolen car. Hers happened to be a unique color with paper plates making it a prime mark. I thought at the beginning of this case that she was obviously carjacked, but am not of the opinion the car was the goal at this point.

I've seen this too and it is the main reason I don't think she was carjacked or that the car was what anyone was after necessarily.

I am hoping @cedgison can get this confirmed for us, but I don't think the baby was that immediately recent (it was like 6 months ago). You have a very good point in general about someone getting nervous. Danni did have a car previously, though.

Someone stated earlier that someone else totaled her previous Chevy Cruze, and this was the replacement. It is a plausible assumption that some of the cash used to pay for it was a settlement/payout. It looks like our VI is getting that clarified for us.

Danni being put into the trunk of one of the cars or getting in the passenger seat with a different driver at Ollie's is the only way a rufie scenario works. There is simply no rationale as to why a predator would allow her to drive knowing he just slipped her a drug that can incapacitate in as little as 10 minutes. This is still very possible considering some of the ways LE has described the scene at the Shell and speculation that she was not alone in the car (though I've also seen it said both she and DW were driving their respective vehicles, we have no evidence as to how that is known = if the video is the same quality as the still we have, there is no way they could determine that unless they saw people getting in and out)

I agree, occupying sounds like she was in the passenger seat or the trunk and they know it. *speculation*

She was supposed to work at Ollies that Tuesday night she disappeared and took that night off to celebrate her new car with the friends she was with.

Not at all. In my case, it was an ex. In the case of girls I've worked with, some were drugged by family members, boyfriends, acquaintences and strangers alike. When the goal is sexual and rufies are used, it is almost always someone you're acquainted with who is able to gain access to your drink. When the goal is murder, it is also almost always someone that knows the victim. Random killers and psychopaths are the exception, though sadly not all that rare these days.

Wow this couldn't be more useless. It has no helpful info beyond what was originally released and no way to comment or submit info directly. I think we are all in agreement here that Danni needs a public Facebook page where info can be released on her case where acceptable, questions can be asked, tips gathered or sleuthed (you'd be amazed what people are willing to say in a FB comment but not call in to LE), searches or other efforts organized, the gofundme promoted and most importantly, Danni's life celebrated so people can feel invested in her. The closed group is great for the family to work on the case internally, of course, but at some point everyone is gonna have to accept that people who talk will do it on a public post, they won't join a group to do it.
Baby was a 6/18 event and perhaps can be confirmed by VI?

We were discussing this the other day. I think it's plausible, but if so why was it so secret? If it were my loved one I would proudly say she recently served as a surrogate for a family and she was doing well medically and happy to have helped bring a life into the world.

A missing surrogate is the type of tug-at-your-heart story the media would run with.

I saw that as I kept reading, I was so far behind. My theory (along with my probable TO) is it wouldn’t go along with the narrative of her being an irresponsible party girl for some reason people keep trying to push.

Not necessarily. I know a surrogate and she didn’t want people to know. Not everyone is as receptive as you might think

Questions quickly arise such as, “how could you carry a baby 9 months and not keep it?” Even though it’s not their own flesh and blood, it’s not as easy as some people think

Interesting. I know people who have used surrogates to have children and a few women who have been surrogates themselves and it was all very open and supportive. The surrogates all said they felt this was a good way they could give back since they were blessed to have very easy pregnancies and all the children they wanted already. The families were obviously ecstatic and grateful that someone would give 9 months of their life to make their dreams of having children come true. I've never heard of anyone thinking anything negative about it.

A woman faced with an unplanned pregnancy of course is a different situation entirely and I completely understand why it's private and up to the woman to disclose what she wants about it.

Agree.

I also seriously question why LE would make a statement to JDT et. al. regarding the fact that the baby is 'not relevant' to the situation? State of mind and general health of DNV are just two basic things that can be impacted by having a child even if the child is given up for adoption. Even a 24 yr old healthy female will take time to recover from childbirth. Assuming birth 6/1-6/8 timeframe DNV would be a little over a month post birth and we learned yesterday was working double shifts at work. I would think exhaustion or sleep might be issues as could basic cognitive issues such as focus and emotional balance. Just because the baby is not part of the picture doesn't mean that DNV wasn't physically and emotionally in recovery mode at the time she went missing.

Surrogacy and Private adoption are generally expensive propositions for prospective parents and the pay for a surrogate/adoptive mother can be signficant. I wonder if the people in DNVs life wanted or needed some of the money that she had recently received and this resulted in conflict, strife and stress in her life?

We have been searching for motive in this case to try and understand why someone might wish DNV ill? Well in my mind this entire baby situation opens up a whole slew of issues within the family that might have be resolved and might not have been resolved? I think knowing the father's name is important. Was it someone in the T/D clan or not? We have seen in the JCD arrest information how he allegedly dealt with possible disagreements with his GF/Fiance and it was frankly a series of shocking allegations made by the GF/Finance. Perhaps peaceful conflict resolution isn't easily accomplished in the T/D family clans so if some unresolved conflict existed perhaps some might will DNV ill? We clearly don't know the answer to these types of questions but I don't think such questions should be easily dismissed or be deemed irrelevant as this baby was a major event in the life of DNV and its one of the few things that we know has happened to her recently.

We have a 24 yr old healthy young woman working double shifts to support herself, her daughter partially, car and save money to pay off prior obligations, take full custody of her daughter and go back to school. That is alot of put on the plate of anybody IMO.

  • #813
Maybe some of the SAR groups Sam Sayer's family is rejecting could come fly their drones over the AL backwoods to find Danni's car.

  • #814
I do not believe LE ever said to anyone that anything was "not relevant." That's not how they work. They take everything and they will decide when they put together charging documents with the state attorney what is relevant.

I have been told, personally, by dozens of LE agents from both state and federal jurisdictions that "everything is relevant" until they file charges. They welcome any and all information because they never know when a seemingly innocuous fact may plug a hole in a story or connect a person to a place or thing.

I think it's safe to continue focusing on MSM and LE statements. Hopefully with this new website they will continue releasing information. Note that they released two statements today and yet didn't clear any suspects. o_O

We were discussing this the other day. I think it's plausible, but if so why was it so secret?

Exactly. WHY SO SECRET? The birth is a simple yes/no type of question but it is critical IMO as to the question of who our victim is in this case and what she might have been dealing with at the time of her disappearance. Much is known about the physical and emotion aspects of childbirth and these issues could potentially be relevant. Do we know this all for sure, no but there is a good reason to put everything on the table so that we can better understand out victim DNV. The only conclusion I can draw from what we have experienced so far is that for whatever reason people involved with this case don't want outsiders to really know who DNV is and it is this hiding and subterfuge that in my mind puts a very dark cloud over the entire group.

I scratch my head and wonder every time a new piece of information is released or confirmed or not confirmed in an incoherent way as to why the secrecy? This has been the issue since DAY ONE in this case and I certainly hope that LE has received more help from the Mobile 'family' than the Mobile 'family' has given to the public and certainly this WS group that has nothing but the best intentions. We deal on an ongoing basis with LE holding back information for strategic reasons and this is not at all what I am talking about here. I can honestly say that its been a long time since I saw a case where a question in the front of my mind is whether people really want the missing person found? Could this all the result of fear? Sure. Could this all be the result of inexperience? Sure. But we are two months into a process and frankly on most days it looks like this is DAY 1.

If the goal is to find a missing DNV (I know this is the goal at WS on this thread but cannot in any way speak to what is going on in the FB world) then why not simply share information about the missing person? How many major life events has DNV had in the last year? Do we know? No. Why not? I have no idea as LE is sharing nothing, friends of DNV don't appear to be participating unfortunately, birth family is absent from the search process and Mobile 'family' is selectively sharing information on an ongoing basis.

The perception of selective information sharing IMO is awful as it simply breeds mistrust and completely calls into question what the agenda of the person that is selectively sharing information might be. Am I expressing frustration? Absolutely because everything that is happening is so unproductive when the goal is simply to find out how someone seemed to vanish into thin air. Selective sharing of information makes an already difficult process of finding a missing person virtually impossible IMO. Amen.

I agree that there are many different POVs out there about the most recent DNV baby and I totally respect everyones right to an opinion on the topic. My issue was that the birth happened and was a major life event and must have impacted DNV on some level. No judgement involved here other than trying to figure out how this life event impacted her or had she processed everything and it was back to doubles at PF Changs and business as usual? The comment 'not relevent' in my mind is right up there with '100% unrelated' following the JCD search and arrest and does little to nothing to explore the issues we talk about all the time on WS when we try to get to know victims. Not relevant as a comment shuts down discussion, inquiry and does zero IMO to further our understanding of our victim who we are BTW trying to find. Just my POV.

I don't know why, but the minute I read that there was a new baby, and enough cash to buy a $10,000 car, I did wonder. Probably err on the side of it might be the case? I mean caution.

Same, I can tell you why I did. $15k was the amount someone I personally know was paid to be a surrogate. I can’t say anything about this case specifically , but it just the right amount of money to match up, now that we know there was no LoJack, it’s very probable she paid a large chunk upfront or put all of it in the bank and had them draw monthly payments out (I do this to my car, throw a bunch in and then when it’s empty fill the account back up so it pulls, trying to improve my credit as much as possible before we buy a house)...

Interestingly enough LE still asks for the public to help without giving the public anything to help with. No new information was released in that brief statement. I understand, keep it close to the vest and maintain the integrity of your investigation, but regurgitating the same info does nothing to maybe trigger some memory in a random passerby that maybe seemed insignificant at the time of occurrence but stands out now.

  • #820
IMO, it's possible that the family and LE do not want to disclose info re: a second child that may have been either relinquished by her voluntarily or removed from her at birth by social services. If that were the case, again IMO, it would make sense not to put that info out in the public domain as, rightly or wrongly, it might negatively influence the public's perception of her and/or their motivation to search for her.
