You ask an interesting question - what would the car look like if it was 30 feet deep for 10 months (July 17, 2018 - May 2019)? I started looking at watershed management reports and flood mitigation draft plans to better understand how that water environment looks.

So far I know that it flows into the Mississippi, there are a number of tributaries the flow into the Bayou Sara. Were floatation devices used to raise the car to avoid disturbing river bed sediment? I doubt there was more than a skeleton.

I'll see what I can find out about water temperature averages and depths. Any thoughts on what is left of a body after that time? There's a decomposition formula based on time and temperature, we just need the temp, then we can figure out what is left of the body - what police have to work with. They have hair, which is good for drug history use. That needs to be ruled out given all the drug talk. Bones in clothing?

Someone posted fantastic a water channel map when we first explored ideas about the car in water. Anyone have the link handy? I think it had water topography too.

Before I go further, can someone please confirm that this is where the car was found. Thanks

I attempted to look up information about the water as well. But I know nothing about that sort of mess and I got lost after reading this first paragraph
See if this link helps you any with the info you need http://www.adem.alabama.gov/programs/water/wqsurvey/2003BayouSaraWatershed.pdf

Yes, I looked at that earlier today and noticed reports about stations along the tributaries and water quality. I'm going to look for details about where she was found, but there was no Cofield match. I'll post if I figure something out.

The Bayou Sara is 0.03 miles wide at that point. 180 feet.

20-30 feet deep in the middle, 90 feet in, or quick drop and 30 feet in?

Very nice of this fellow who did not know Danielle to put together this vigil. Other folks did not appear to want to be there. MOO
I agree! The amount of respect shown for her life by (some) strangers is more than JDT just showed. My oh my....this was literally a game changer for me personally. She looked like a nervous Nelly while the first friend was talking and her facial expressions during this time said more than words ever could!! I want to vomit .. she knows A LOT!!

You’re telling me! Chief LB said he was told somewhere between 20-30 ft at the drop off when a reporter asked him how far down the car was located

Here's a map of the station numbers (from your link) and a map of the car location. If we know the numbers of the nearest stations, we can get information about water quality, such as oxygen saturation, pollutants, other forms of water management. Not sure about topo maps, but maybe they're hidden somewhere in the report.

Is this X in the correct place?

I’m not good with maps, but I believe so. I found this that may help and there are coordinates at the bottom for the boat launch

I find this interesting, if only because someone had to know about the drop off before dropping a car there. We looked at all sorts of bayous and tributaries, and most were not deep enough.

You are absolutely correct .. ! On top of that this place is not very well known. I have lived here all my life and I am an avid boater and I had no idea about this place.

If the dot on the left is the body, what is the second dot?

Body at the end of Ruben Ave, in Cofield Park Public Boat Launch?

BSW 3, BSW 18, Bsw 19

"BSW 16, BSW 18 and BSW 19 were added as tidally influenced stations. BSW 21 was added as a flow measuring station. Of the tidally influenced stations, BSW 3, BSW 10, and BSW 19 represented urban/industrial land use. With the exception of BSW 21 (flow station), all the selected stations were monitored, at least monthly for dissolved oxygen, pH, salinity, conductivity, temperature, total suspended solids, total dissolved solids, turbidity, fecal coliform bacteria, ammonia, nitrates/nitrites, total Kjehldahl nitrogen, total phosphorous, and ortho phosphate. Selected stations were also sampled for metals concentrations in the water column and sediment, as well as oil and grease concentrations, PCB concentrations, and pesticide concentrations."

Very telling to me that she went missing the same day when she got her car, days before a custody hearing. Having her own car would've been vital in her getting custody of her daughter. Someone didn't want that to happen. I'd be curious to know more about the circumstances surrounding the ex's arrest which landed him in jail that night. How long had he been in jail at that time?

If I figured this out correctly, this is the area where Danni was found submerged in her car in 30 feet of water. Maybe it helps answer the question about how fast the water was moving, what direction, what conditions influenced decomposition, what is left of Danni's body after 10 months in the bayou?

No kidding!
I don't think anything can be gained by trying to figure out what her ex-boyfriend was doing that night. The information is all over the place, and the ex-boyfriend may not be directly involved in her disappearance.

We have heard from his mother that he instantly knew that she was dead.

LE needs to get it together ASAP! Too many slip ups just happened. Today was the first day I sat and literally watched all news videos and read articles from the local news stations and took notes. The obvious first was the surveillance video release, followed by how they were led to the discovery, and now by identifying the body as a female. All are good for sleuths but bad for the perpetrators and their case.
Discovery of the case- TIPS vs “Training”
According to a news reporter, during a conversation off camera with Chief LB, “He did tell me they did get some tips about this..they did get some tips as to a car possibly being out here-but could not confirm the car at that time.”

If you go back and view the Fox 10 video from 5/3 on their website where reporters were on the scene you will notice that is the second update of the day.
He is all over the place explaining first and second trips out to the location. I’m not 100% convinced there were only 2 trips out there prior to the discovery. And WHY WHY did they put off the second trip an entire week??
Towards the end of the video the car was confirmed to be “on dry land” and up until the last few SECONDS the human remains were referred to as “the body.” Then you hear someone off camera say “We won’t know that information until we get her out.” Turns out that person was the Director, JB. The reporters repeated what was said to confirm and chief did not verbally respond but nodded and lips read yes....
I’d think this was a huge slip up on their part for many reasons
