Oh no. I hope he’s still alive, maybe in someone’s out building? Poor guy. He’s probably so confused. I wonder if he found water nearby.

Snip:
Hoover police immediately launched a search in the area and were joined by the Perry County Sheriff’s Office, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, and state prison tracking dogs out of Bibb County. ALEA’s helicopter was deployed during the search, which continue throughout Tuesday.

As of Tuesday afternoon, police said, there is still no sign of Stevenson. Foul play is not suspected, though it has not been ruled out. “The search area terrain is difficult, wet and encompasses thousands of acres,’’ police said in a Facebook post.

Poor guy. Maybe that area or looks of that landscape reminded him of something. If he’s having mild memory loss, he may have thought “Gosh I know I’m lost. Let me get out and walk. Maybe it will become familiar and I can find my way out.” He had a number of hours before darkness. He must have become disoriented.

Over a week of searching 'several hundred acres' for missing Hoover man turns up nothing

A Hoover man is still missing after teams searched "several hundred acres" around the area where his vehicle was found abandoned in Perry County more than a week ago.
Hoover police said Saturday they conducted their most extensive search yet, with 80 searchers methodically covering several hundred acres over rough terrain.
Search efforts were led by the Alabama Wildlife Division and were assisted by Hoover police, the state bureau of investigation, and other agencies.

"I still have hope" friends optimistic as search for missing Hoover man continues

His friends say he's a retired pharmacy tech, who recently started battling slight memory loss.

“He's had some memory issues for about a year or so now but it wasn't full blown,” stated one friend.

“As far as we know there's no connection to Perry county with Frank or Susan," Ken said. "So how did he get down a dirt logging road and car be found we're very concerned bout that."

Exhaustive search for missing Hoover man continues but police fear ‘bleak’ ending

“It has now been 13 days since Mr. Stevenson was last seen,’’ Capt. Gregg Rector said. “While there’s always hope, we believe the likelihood of a positive outcome is bleak at this point.”

Searchers are having to deal with standing water, mud, briars, underbrush, snakes and insects.

Even though Stevenson car was found on April 20, Rector said investigators have reason to think that it was abandoned at the location where it was found somewhere between April 14th and 18th.

“We know this because much of the property is gated and local hunters have been able to advise us when those gates were open and when they were closed,’’ Rector said. “That indicates that if Mr. Stevenson drove his car into this remote area and walked away from it, that it was at least nine days ago and maybe as many as 13. There have been two heavy rainfall events during that time and multiple nights with temperatures as low as the low 40’s.”

Search for Missing Hoover Man Continues in Perry Co. - Alabama News

April 30
Authorities continue to search for a missing Hoover man — whose abandoned car was found in Perry County last week.
The car was found in a timberland area in the Suttle community stuck in a muddy ditch on a logging trail.

“We could see where the tire had been spinning and evidently he exited the vehicle from there and he ended up on foot out in this area,”said Sheriff Jones.

Interesting that the latest update doesn’t mention the underwater cameras. Maybe they haven’t done that yet.
