‘We want her found’: Enterprise artist creates portrait of missing toddler Genesis Reid

the utter silence and seeming lack of progress is hard to stomach. Reminds me of the Melodee Buzzard case. I am trying to remember that we felt this exact same way as we waited for what seemed like forever. But Melodee was eventually found to be laid to rest with love. Her mother was eventually arrested and charged for her murder.

May we get some news soon about this little princess Genesis and may her mother pay for whatever she has done with her.

I understand about LE not disclosing all the facts about a case to the public. But what we as the public that cares for this child needs to hear is that LE is still looking for her and have not given up. I’m having a hard time reconciling the police chief with tears in his eyes, with the crickets that we are hearing now.

ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WTVY) -Authorities charged the mother of a missing Coffee County toddler with Capital Murder and Corpse Abuse charges this afternoon, jail records confirm.

Adrienne Reid faces the allegation though searchers have not found the body of 2-year-old Genesis Reid, reported missing on February 16.

However, charging documents allege the child was killed on Christmas Day. Her body has not been found.

Fighting back tears, Enterprise Police Chief Michael Moore told reporters that Adrienne Reid placed her daughter’s remains in a duffel bag and tossed it in a dumpster.

A massive search of the Coffee County landfill using ultra-modern techniques and specialized equipment is planned, Sheriff Scott Byrd said.

Byrd said the search area has been narrowed down to no more than 200 square feet but pointed out it could be a few days before everything is in place to search for the decomposed remains in the 100 acre landfill.

“We have a team of experts from Atlanta coming in this week,” he said.

Until now, authorities had stopped short of calling her a murder suspect, though a judge at the behest of Coffee County District Attorney James Tarbox put her under a $1 million bond on the false reporting charge, for which most bonds are set at no more than $15,000.

He promised to seek the death penalty.

I wonder what evidence they have.

On Christmas Day. Just seems that much more brutal, whatever happened to her was on that special day.

I can’t.

Christmas Day.

Jesus and all of humanity wept.

I can’t.

Based on the above article, I suspect they have video of her throwing the duffel into the dumpster.

It's awful every time, but Christmas Day just hits that much harder.

Sure does.

I caught the video part but maybe I mean - how and where would show it. Not in the home i would guess?

So no news yet…

In an update, Captain Haglund with Enterprise Police told WDNews, “We are asking for anyone in the public, who has seen Genesis, in the last 30 to 45 days to report the information to the police.”

My bolding. Right now it sounds like the familiar “woke up, child gone, door open” malarkey. IMO
Yes, I just got here on this thread and that is immediately what I was thinking.

An Alabama toddler girl was reported missing early Monday, and authorities are asking for information from anyone who has seen the child in the past 30 days.

The search began about 3 a.m. Monday when the mother of Genises Nova Reid reported that the girl – who authorities said is either 2 or 3 years old – was missing.

The mother told authorities the family awoke to find Genises missing from her bed and a door to the Apache Drive home open.
Children are usually afraid of the dark. We have a nearly three yr old missing. Same old story, ie., we woke up and the door was open and she was gone.

This poor precious little baby. Some people don’t deserve the honor of parenthood.

Alabama native here. For some reason the ones that are more local hit me even harder. Our family would have loved the opportunity to love on this sweet little girl on Christmas Day, and every other day. Broken-hearted.

.

Enterprise Police Chief Michael Moore told reporters that video was obtained showing Reid throwing a duffel bag with Genesis’ remains into a dumpster

Yes thank you, I followed up clarifying. I don’t understand how they have video

Or how they know that Genesis’s body was in the duffel bag. I mean, sure, people don’t typically just throw away full duffel bags, but that is a definitive statement, no hedging as you typically see with LE and with crime journalism.
