AL - Hotel employees save missing teen from human trafficking, Tuscaloosa, 19 May 2022

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) - Authorities with the West Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force announced that a group of employees at a Tuscaloosa hotel helped in the recovery of a missing teenager from Chicago.

Authorities say that on May 19, the Tuscaloosa Police Department got a call from a local hotel asking for a welfare check on a guest. During a check-in that Thursday, one of the front desk staff members noticed signs of possible sex trafficking, signaling another co-worker. They made mental notes and reported them to their supervisors.

I'd like to know what specific things caught the attention of the hotel staff that led them to suspect trafficing.

IMHO I imagine anyone who works in the hotel or restaurant community interacts with the public so much that they can possibly tell if something doesn't seem right. Thank goodness that have and use their spidy sense. Most of us are more aware of what we are doing rather than focusing on others (not saying we should be focusing on others) just saying that the hotel staff were focused on the people checking in. It could have been something as simple as eye contact. Congratulations to the hotel staff. Well done!
