Kristy's DLC is only two months before the discovery date, whereas the Jane Doe was estimated to have died more than a year prior.

Also, looking at Kristy's photo, she appears to have a squarer jawline.

Neither of these would be a solid basis for exclusion, but combine that with the height discrepancy, and I'd say probably not.

Jamie is closer in height, and the DLC is closer, but she has an even squarer jawline than Kristy. I don't see her being Huntsville Jane Doe either.

Monique Santiago currently has no DNA or dental charts available for comparison.

The way the report reads at NamUs is their 'default' for no dna and no dentals if none is entered by the person adding the case. It is my understanding when NamUs went 'live' all NCMEC missing children cases were down loaded or transfered to NamUs straight from NCMEC, thus they may have never had LE or a case manager update the dna or dental info. Because of that I would not automatically presume DNA and Dentals are not available without contacting LE or ME to confirm. Especially with some of these older missing childrens cases that were likely 'transfered' to NamUs from NCMEC.

Since this was submitted, I think it is worth a call to see if Monique was ever officially ruled out. I don't know if the OP still checks in at WS or how frequently. anyone want to find out?

WOW! It's been forever since I last posted on this site! I was the one who originally created this post on the Hsv Jane Doe back in 2005. Since then I've gotten married and had twins (18 mths old). As you can imagine, I have not had much time to do a lot of research, but I really want to get back into it.

I have a REALLY really good possibility that someone suggested to me. This girl was discovered on the NAMUS missing persons site by a friend of a friend, and I am pretty sure it was sent to LE. My friend called the Doe Network a while back and they told her that this girl HAD been submitted and that they were checking on it, but that was all they could say.

The size matches exactly--also the age. I only wish there were more pics!

ETA: Sylvia Ann Lee, 17 years old
Missing from Campbell, CA on 10/31/95
Height is 4'11 to 5'0

https://www.findthemissing.org/cases/show/4574

I am going to try to get in touch with Sgt Berry again to see if this girl has been excluded.

I just spoke with Lt. Charles Berry on this case. He is awesome :). Anyway, he said for me to give him a couple of days and he will find out if this girl, Sylvia Lee, has been ruled out or being tested.

I will update here as soon as I find out. Thank you, everyone, for your interest in this case

I did not see any Namus link for the UID so here it is:

https://identifyus.org/cases/8398

an impressive list of rule outs but Monique Santiago is not among them.

Sylvia Lee is new on the ruleout list along with Patricia Leblanc.

I was wondering about that, but the pictures on Namus are so small that sometimes it's hard to tell. And/or I need reading glasses.

What does everyone think about this possible match? I submitted to LE but haven't heard back yet.... for Crystal Dittmeyer who went missing in June of 1996

http://www.missingkids.com/missingk...NCMC&seqNum=1&caseLang=en_US&searchLang=en_US

The height and age estimates are off slightly, but the timeframe, description of clothing, and description of the gap and hair color are a match. To me she looks identical to some of the reconstruction images!

Where I can see a resemblence, I don't think this UID is Crystal because of the circumstances of Crystal's disapperance. Here is a link to her Charley Project profile which her step father admits to killing her.http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/d/dittmeyer_crystal.html

I did take a look at that and I admit it may be stretch. But after more research, I discovered that her step-dad was from Kentucky and did go back there after she disappeared. Maybe he disposed of her on a round-about way back to Kentucky?

Hi all,

This Jane Doe has haunted me for a while now. Today I happened to be looking through some old missing cases when I came across what might be a match, but kind of a long shot, and wanted to know what you all think. The missing girl is Trudy Appleby (Charlie Project page: http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/a/appleby_trudy.html). She is a bit younger than Janes age estimate, but, some of the pictures on Trudy's page look quite similar to the reconstructions on Jane's page here: http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/148ufal.html

Height is in the correct range, hair color is a match. Doe network page says that they believe Jane's body was dumped there in late 1996; Charley project gives Trudy's missing date as August 21, 1996; so that could fit for time.

Trudy is not on Jane's quite lengthy ruled-out list.

What do you all think?

I thought she was a great possible match too so I sent her in awhile back too and this is the response I received from Charles Berry

"We have and we ruled her out.thanks for the tip."

This UID is no longer searchable on the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children website...what could the reason be?
