All right you guys I'm hooked. i accidently clicked on this thread this morning and have finished it. I'm digusted w/ all of it and am so mad w/ media calling this anything but rape/sodomy on a 12 yr old!
I can't even look at the girls in my son's 6th grade class w/o worrying they are being abused. They are so young! So wanting attention.
Now off to read Brittney's thread. Not sure if I can handle it but I'm going.

Well ai guess its time to break my "lurker" silence and thank you all for the amazing sleuthing you have done. The only reqson i have waited so long is thatninhavent felt i have had anythinge helpful to say that hasn't been said before am a 25 yo graduate student in NOLA. First became a member in June to keep up w the Jaren Lockhart case bc she was kidnapped a few b,oaks from where I live; then Mickey Schunick bc I am an alumni of her University; but the Brittnet Woods case has drew me in bc I lived in ear her area growing up, and I also many of the poor choices she had made when I was 19. Fortunately God blessed me w a way to break free of my destructive patterns before it was too late. It breaks my heart that her case is not getting the attention it deserves! brittney is a 19 yo girl who has been exposed to who only knows what kind of horrors.. Nobody chooses their family!! I haven't posted yet ob WBS but I do follow the cases and support her family on FB. So I guess this is to simoly say hello all, thanks for all of the work you've done, and my hearts and prayers are in the same place as yours!

I am not up to speed on these cases and need to read through the threads. Based on what I have read, does anyone think it's possible that Brittney's disappearance is not tied to these crimes? I would think it would be the coincidence of the century if there was no cross over. I am also one of those who strongly disagrees with these crimes being characterized as relationships or sexual relationships. We are not talking about a sixteen year old girl and her nineteen year old boyfriend here. There are degrees of depravity and evil in sexual abuse of children, but all these crimes are violent assaults based on the the imbalance of power between the assailants and their victims.

The Baldwin County Sheriff&#8217;s Office and the Mobile Police Department are currently searching for 22 year old Derek Wood. Wood has been out on bond since his earlier arrest on Sodomy 2nd charges.

Wood was due to report in to deputies this morning in Bay Minette and failed to appear. Wood&#8217;s Court ordered ankle monitor and GPS tracking device showed Wood to be located at his home on Lenardo Drive in Mobile. Deputies traveled to Wood&#8217;s address and found him in a car with a female driver. As deputies attempted stop the car, a short pursuit resulted in the suspects&#8217; car wrecking and Wood fleeing on foot. Deputies later located Wood&#8217;s assigned ankle monitor cut off in the weeds.

The Baldwin County District Court has ordered Wood&#8217;s bond immediately revoked. If anyone has information on where Wood is hiding, they are asked to contact the Baldwin County Sheriff&#8217;s Office or the Mobile Police Department.

I realise that DW may have been a victim at one time, but its alleged (and he has been charged) he is now a perp who has harmed a child so he needs to be found and put back in jail. IMOO
