The DNA match doesn’t necessarily mean that the donor is the murderer. But there is a good chance the donor knows exactly what happened!

We’ll see how this unfolds.

The DNA links this person to the murders of JB and Tracie.

Yes i understand, but doesn’t necessarily mean the donor pulled the trigger.

WSFA in Montgomery is reporting the same thing
Person detained in cold case murders of 2 Alabama girls

This IS exciting. Perhaps Justice at last!

From what I understand the donor of the DNA and the person who killed them are the same.

Hopefully this is finally the end of the case of the murders of J.B. Beasley and Tracie Hawlett. It will be interesting to see what the final story ends up being if the person in custody is indeed the killer and wants to discuss what happened the night of July 31, 1999 after the girls left the Big Little gas station in Ozark, AL. Where, when, why, who(and how old), and how the crime ended up taking place are all questions waiting for answers.

The DNA in this case was ALWAYS going to be what solved it!

That is definitely possible but I have yet to see any official confirmation of that.

There is only 1 person in custody

Looking through the inmate roster on the Dale County Sheriff's Office I don't see anyone that jumps out to me that was arrested in the past week. Then again this new suspect doesn't have to in custody in Dale County either.

Could be in Ozark City jail for now until officially charged?

Ozark city jail is combined with dale county jail. The suspect hasn't been formally charged yet which is why they are not on the roster yet. I have a feeling they will wait until they are ready to do a press conference to formally charge the suspect
