YAY! The reward is rising. Somebody is going to turn him in eventually. I hope so anyway.
What do you think the reason was for the doors to be missing from the abandoned cars?
TIA
The US Marshalls mean business when they put up a $5,000.00 reward.
Maybe he took the kids as leverage and then shot them all? I wish LE would release info on whether Dr. Girder's checking account was emptied.I think he was trying to get revenge on the mother. If all he wanted to do was rob the man, he could have followed him after the kids were dropped off, and it would have been much easier.

Several posters under news articles stated that Dr. Girdner had helped them financially in addition to this mom. IF true, this is worrisome because many people knew he had extra cash.

Well the doors on these cars are usually left unlocked.
easy enuff to take the doors off and sell them I think Hoods and doors are easy to tke off and easy to sell.
Very random here and probably not the least bit important, however I Google's remove doors on stolen car and there were a few articles from 2012, not in the area, that said jeep doors were being targeted for stealing. They were easy to pop off. I'm pretty sure there are no vin numbers on the doors, anyone know?
Maybe it was as simple as the cops were closing in and he just took the doors to a chop shop type place?
So yea, I agree...just the fact they were there and easy to remove.
As I said very random just interesting that was the first couple links to pop up.

An Alabama man acquitted in a double murder is being charged with killing 9-year-old twins and their elderly baby sitter earlier this week, a prosecutor said Thursday.
snip....Authorities believe the slayings happened on a dirt road where the bodies were found. All three victims had been shot, the Alabama Bureau of Investigation said Thursday night.
It was unclear if Lee knew any of the victims or their families.

This guy has a violent criminal history and gangs have been mentioned also. But despite being having multiple cases of various felonies in progress, he was out on bond.
Suppose the POI was ultimately trying to reach Mr. Girdner's residence to steal other stuff, but Mr. Girdner resisted and refused to take him there. If others in the Montgomery neighborhood noticed the frequency of Mr. Girdner's visits and his assorted vehicles, there's a good probability the no-good,,
noticed also. (Sorry, sometimes it is just hard to refrain from name calling! Time to call it a night.)
Correct me if im wrong but Mr G didnt live across the street from him mom did and Mom i dont think had money.
This man had to know mom took the kids there and went and got them he took mr g cause he could ID him so he took him also.
Moms statement when she said she wanted them back in one piece says she knew who had them. JMO
I am just guessing. But maybe he sold it to a chop/shop and they were tearing it down, but then they found out it was part of a crime scene, involving the cold blooded murder of three innocents, and they hightailed it away from the car at that point.

Concerning husbands suicide: One of the posters (a few threads back) stated she lives on the same street as them and definitely knows the husband killed himself but she was young and doesn't remember much.. I was thinking (assuming you're at least 15) this article may not be online. Could be 15 maybe even 20+ years ago. Just thinking.
