I wish I had seen Tracie on Oprah but I missed it.

I can't believe the DNA is taking so long. :banghead:

NewMom2003, I can't understand the delay on the DNA either? Unless they are inbred or something. I know that is a terrible thing to say. Sorry in advance.

That makes it easier, oddly enough.

Bumping for the children!

The male was indicted today, according to the evening news reports.

BGG, when you get a link for that could you post it please? I just ran a search and am not finding anything.

  • #188
I just did the same and couldn't find anything. A lot of us want to see these creeps jailed and find out if the children belong to someone who is missing them.

  • #189
I hope we do hear more. I'm very curious about the children and if they really belong to them.

I can't believe there are still no DNA results on these two children. :banghead:

I'm starting to think that the authorities already know whether or not these two children belonged to these sickos and are keeping it quiet because the whole situation is considerably larger than first suspected. Their crimes probably span over many states and jurisdictions and there is no telling how many children have been abused by these sickos.

Just disgusting.

NewMom, they've already admitted that these two were most likely involved in many types of crimes in many states. And they have asked for additional info if anyone knows of any. They have said they suspected them of abuse of other children.
But I too am concerned about the DNA info, and why nothing has been put out about that yet. Hasn't it been more than 6 weeks since the samples were taken? They iniatially said it would be a week, then they changed it to 6-8 weeks, so it is possible they haven't heard yet. But like you, I wonder if the info is known but being withheld for some tactical reason.

District Attorney Tommy Chapman said the missing children center offered to provide at no cost to the county DNA testing with results available in three days rather than the weeks state testing would take. Chapman said local officials eagerly accepted the offer from the nonprofit child advocacy group.

On Monday, local officers worked alongside an investigator from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children examining government records reviewing Social Security numbers the two adults gave for the children that did not match their identities

I still think that the above is strange. If they were really their kids then the social security numbers should be right and they are not.

It is because these children belong to someone else. They are missing and hopefully loved and wanted back. They were abducted with or without parental approval. I added that as we see some cases where money is a factor, however, I don't see these two with any bucks and so, they were abducted for their own needs. These are really evil people and I choose to not use the word sick. That gives them credibility which they do not deserve.

I still think that the above is strange. If they were really their kids then the social security numbers should be right and they are not.

These two lived very criminal lives. They had several aliases and false identities themselves. It would make sense that if they were running from the law, and changed their identities, that they might also change the kids identities.
It is very possible that these kids never had a legal social security number for instance. While a birth certificate is automatically completed at a child's birth, the parents would have to request a copy of it. And social security numbers aren't given automatically, parents have to apply for them. For this couple, it would probably be easier and safer to just the idenitity papers for the kids, where they got their own. Actually, I would be suprised if the kids had too much in the way of identity papers.
So it is still a possibility that the kids do belong to them. I guess I just hope they don't.

What the heck is the holdup on those DNA tests? It has been more than enough time for the results to be back. There does not even seem to be any news coverage on this now!

Bumping to see if anyone has heard anything new. It's so bizarre that this story has virtually vanished from the media outlets.

DNA test results crucial to the prosecution's case against a Conecuh County couple are in.

The DNA testing shows that Glenna Cavender is the mother of both children she is accused of abusing. However, Jack Wiley is not the father of either child according to the test results.

Conecuh County District Attorney Tommy Chapman wanted the DNA to identify the couple's relationship with the children. There had been a fear at first that the children may have been kidnapped.

Chapman says the DNA evidence gives Cavender more credibility since she has claimed she was the mother of both children all along. Cavender says Wiley is the only one who has been abusing the children.

Wiley also claimed that he was not the father of either child. His statement is also now confirmed by the DNA testing.

I'm glad that the test results are back. It ends alot of wondering about who these children are. I honestly didn't expect the results to turn out the way that they did. Now what? I wonder what the chances are of their fathers coming forward to take custudy of them? It was mentioned early on that Glenna Faye's family has expressed interest in taking custody of the kids.
