BESSEMER, Alabama - A 75-year-old man from Bessemer is missing. James Morrison hasn't been seen since January 3rd.
His family is doing all they can to hold on to hope that he will be found alive. He was last seen at Deer Springs Grocery on County Road 11 in Pelham where he talked with his daughter on the phone. He was also spotted near Pelham High School and at a Shell gas station on Highway 280 where a clerk gave him money for gas.

Morrison's daughter Frances Gann says best case scenario.

"He's just in a confused state, just driving around on his merry way, just driving around and there are so many Good Samaritans out there and angels looking out for him, giving him gas money."

Thinking about the alternative is too much for her to handle.

"Oh, it's horrible, I don't even want to think about that. You just pray about it, you hand it to God." Gann said.

I hate to ask, but are there any bodies of water nearby that he may have accidentally driven into?

Bessemer Deputy Police Chief Mike Roper confirmed to AL.com this morning that Morrison's van was found Tuesday in a remote Shelby County location near or in the Cahaba River Wildlife Management Area.

Shelby County sheriff's Maj. Ken Burchfield said they will release more information later today in a press release. The ongoing investigation, he said, limits their ability to disclose much at this time.
