The quote above is why I feel very unsympathetic towards the mom.And the mother, his partner, saw the images and had zero reaction" tough to have any empathy for her. She got in that car, the crash sounds intentional, makes me wonder if she knew what was about to happen?
and if she couldnt afford independance, (from her perspective) moving in with a man would have been the next best thing. ( I dont know what her home life was like)Moo..some women go from family home straight into another home with a man. The woman has not experienced independence. So the man's reality becomes her reality. ...moo

The document states: 'After Kahleb died, his body was placed into a bag and stored in an outside storage building for a brief period prior to final disposal at an unknown location.'
Photographs show the little boy bruised and face up lying on the ground as well as 'hanging from a loft with a rope with blood present on his body.'

Too bad that he was conveniently killed (or conveniently killed himself) in the car accident, I would have preferred to see karma act in another way. Like in jail where child molesters and killers are not well seen.Bailey confessed to investigators that after Kahleb's death, his small body was placed in a bag and stored in an outdoor shed 'for a brief period' before being moved to an unknown location.

you're right, they are worse than animals. but I couldnt think of anything else. These are monsters, not animals. Animals are not nasty, they only kill to survive. Humans are the only species that tortures and kills for pleasure and other sick needs.

Stories about babies are hard to hear. There was one case where the mom went on vacation , left her baby at home, in court they played the neighbors ring camera recording of the baby crying Im sure the baby cried for a full day and I had to shut it off. I didnt need to torture myself any longer than about 10 seconds. ( Kristel something )I dont even want to say her name.I don’t really have anything to add, but I’m just so tired of reading about babies and children being neglected, abused, tortured and murdered. I just can’t stop crying thinking about how awful his short life was, it is truly heartbreaking.
I made a decision fairly early on in life to not have children because I knew I wouldn’t be a good parent. I wish people would learn some self-awareness early on and accept that not everyone should have children.
Maybe he thought the little boy was fathered by someone else?Too bad that he was conveniently killed (or conveniently killed himself) in the car accident, I would have preferred to see karma act in another way. Like in jail where child molesters and killers are not well seen.
I keep asking myself, why the little boy. Usually fathers , while adoring daughters, are especially proud of having a little mini-me for boy activities.
There are according to literature 5 filicide motives, the most common being fatal maltreatment, which is what happened in this case (abuse and neglect).
Another common motive is an unwanted child, seen as a hindrance. But usually killing occurs before toddler years.
i think we have both here. He was IMO obviously unwanted (cost of a second child, cost of health issues, personality, possibly different bio father, disruption of the “perfect” trio with the sister, other social stressors, who knows) which resulted in neglect, then worsening of his conditions, making him even more unwanted, resulting in abuse and death.
on paternal filicide, I quote:
“ Fathers and mothers kill their children at similar rates; however, mothers’ victims are younger on average. Fathers are more likely to kill impulsively, to be intoxicated, and to use violent methods.
Mothers who kill their children are much more likely than fathers to pursue an insanity defense successfully. Therefore, after a filicide, fathers are more often incarcerated than mothers, while mothers are more frequently hospitalized in a psychiatric facility. In addition, fathers are more likely to kill themselves after murdering their children than mothers are.”

Parents Who Kill: Clinical and Legal Perspectives
Psychiatrists should not be afraid to assess parenting issues and other stressors when treating depressed or psychotic parents of young children.www.psychiatrictimes.com
Compared to maternal perpetrators, research has shown that paternal perpetrators who killed their children were older, had more than one victim, were more likely to attempt or die by suicide following the offence, were more likely to use a weapon or another violent method (Cavanagh et al., 2007; Dawson, 2015; Queensland Sentencing Advisory Council, 2018; Johnson & Dawson, 2021)
This study examined the backgrounds of fathers who fatally abuse their children and the contexts within which these homicides occur. The type of relationship between victim, perpetrator, and the victim's mother was a particular interest:
Results
This was a group of undereducated, underemployed men with significant criminal histories. All except one victim had been subjected to previous violence by the offender, almost three-quarter of whom had also perpetrated violence against their intimate partners (the child's birth mother). Many men had unreasonable expectations and low tolerance levels of normal childhood behaviors, and many appeared jealous and resentful of these young children. All 26 victims were under 4 years of age.
Key findings from this study suggest a number of risk factors that are both distinct and interrelated. The majority of men (62%) were not the biological father of the victim, and the great majority were cohabiting with (81%) rather than married to (15%) the birth mother. These findings highlight the importance of relationships, both between the perpetrator and the child and between the perpetrator and his intimate partner.
I'd also like some clarity.I have been reading along here, and usually if I see/ hear/ read about an interesting case, I will discuss it with family or friends. I have talked to no one about this case as I find it so heinous!
I do wonder, however, about Wendy/Pam. She is only 22. She had 2 children in a fairly short amount of time, with a man quite a bit older that her. Their relationship must have begun when she was barely legal at age 18.
Where was her father in all this? He was living in the same house. He was obviously not protecting his grandchildren, and it makes me question what his role in his own daughter’s life was.
I am not defending her or her actions, but I would love to know more background.
How did she meet Collins?
Were they actually married?
How old was she when they met?
How long was she in AL?
Why did her father live with them?
