Great post, I’d like to know answers to those questions as well.
Pam’s family (Aunt IIRC) stated in a media interview - Chaplin called Kahleb's deceased father "a sadistic, narcissist, evil person that preyed on a young woman."
She also said LE and DHS dropped the ball. Which sounds like the family either knew DHS was involved or at least suspected so. How did they know that is my question?
If Pam was 18 when she met Collins, there would be little her parents could do to stop a relationship if she was determined to do so. Many including myself, suspect meth or other serious drug use by Collins and her Dad. Pam didn’t appear to be using IMO, based on her appearance - meaning no weight fluctuations you may see in meth users. But that doesn’t mean she was drug free, I realize that.
I’m never going to waiver on my thoughts regarding Pam’s culpability. Because I’ll never be able to erase from my mind what has been described in the text exchanges.
This case reminds me of the UK Constance Marten & Mark Gordon case — on the run for months with a young baby who unfortunately passed away due to lack of safety measures and irresponsible parenting. Baby Victoria was found in a shed, in a supermarket carrier bag. How some people treat their babies, both before and after death, is vile.
I've wondered the same.
IMO:
Nothing would surprise me of the relationship between the 3 so-called adults.
Does anyone have the date of births for the 2 children?
Curious how soon after RC's birth did she become pregnant with KC?
Anyone know if there are relatives from either side that live in Alabama?
So far I've read nothing about friends or co-workers of theirs who have come forward to the media.

Was he custodianship even legal? Sorry if this has been asked and answered a dozen times!
I'm going on the few articles saying that he was the custodian of KC.
I never read the police affiliates and don't know if that was mentioned in them by LE.
The sealed records that JEB's defense wants from Alabama's DHS unsealed from Jan 2024 on (for alleged child abuse/neglect ) I assume would contains all the answers to the questions we have but will we ever see them if this case doesn't go to trial for either defendant?

It was a Texas case I posted the link to about grandparents who were caring for grandchildren, not Alabama.

I've been able to find RyLeigh's DOB, but not Kahleb's.
RyLeigh was born April 12nd, 2022, making her about 2 years, 7 months old at the time of her death. Very interestingly, Kahleb is mentioned as one of "those left to cherish her memory".

Sadly, poor Kahleb doesn't even seem to have a listed DOB anywhere. We do know he had passed his 1st birthday when it was found that he was missing after the car accident. On the 15th of February 2023, Steven posted to Facebook that he was about 7 weeks away from welcoming Kahleb into the world. Provided Kahleb came into the world at roughly his expected due date, that would make his DOB roughly early April 2023. That would make the age difference about a year, meaning he was conceived around 3 months after Ryliegh was born. That would also make him about 17 months around September 2024, when he was last seen alive.

Thanks so much for the info you posted and it's exactly what's been missing from the thread.
Even with a grain of salt we knew that WB became pregnant with KC soon after RC was born and 3 months does sound very credible.
The timeline makes me doubt that WB fooled around with someone other than someone who was living with her.
I've said it before about the 3 so-called adults that nothing would surprise me after what we know they're capable of.

The new baby being conseived slightly less than 3 months after first-time giving birth does also not look good. Where I live, the medical recommendation is to not have sex for at least 6-8 weeks after giving birth, but most women wait for longer due to, well, everything (having a newborn does not make you feel exactly hot and horny).
Mothers who experience intimate partner violence are more likely to have closely spaced pregnancies (more likely to both experience unplanned pregnancies and have shorter intervals between pregnancies).

why did the grandfather have custody? or guardianship , typicaly that means there is child welfare involvement
Did they all live together? Obviously no SW checked in to do a face to face if he was last seen in sept thats almost 90 days ? ( standard requirement is usually monthly even if its just a custody agreement but thats in Canada I dont know about the US )
How else would the grandfather get Guardianship. ( even a custody agreement or a temporary guardianship order) if not by a court order?

One of the biggest questions is why were the 3 adults allowed to cohabit in the one residence, with the children present, if the grandfather had guardianship/custody? That would imply the parents weren't fit, or somehow signed over their rights temporarily, if that's even a thing?
Thats what I am wondering? did they live together? I dont know whats worse if they lived together or if somehow the grandfather gave them over to them, after taking guardianship.
If they had social services involvemnt due to some serious grounds, neglect ,abuse, safety the parents dont even get to sign them over, they dont need the parents consent.
if they have a reason to apprehend they are gone. (and yes it can be a thing) where parents sign over temporary guardiansip like in a custody agreement, usually that is early intervention where the mom/dad may need supports ( go to rehab etc) but i dont think thats the case here.

Honestly, I do not think it would have mattered if Kahleb were fathered by someone other than SBC. My own .02- he was fathered by SBC.
What young, inexperienced, first time mother with an infant has time to run around on her significant other? I also doubt that WPB had any time to herself. My money would say she was very carefully watched and controlled 24/7.
What would have mattered is that this addition of a second child would have taken attention away from SBC. Even more so than what the addition of the first child did.
My bet would also be on the fact that WPB was the main earner and only form of financial income in that family, if not the entire household. From his social media posts, it looks like SBC has issues with staying employed. And he obviously could not be trusted to watch his son and keep him safe.
Which leads to this question- where was his daughter while he was beating the life out of his son???
