He came to us at 3 months, he passed in May at 7 years old. He was a beautiful little boy, who could light up a room. He didn't deserve what happened.

The few articles I've read about it points to the child either being weak from some medical problem or the child reminds them of someone, or the child isn't theirs or they believe the child isn't theirs.
Nothing I read mentioned an infant/baby and most of the reasons can be applied to an abuser who abuses all their children.
It's been studied more with abusive step-parents.

I agree. IMO he was also seen as a hindrance. The rest derived from that. Otherwise he would have posted his excitement in FB as he had done for his daughter.
 
It's just horrific that they would target any children but then just 1? I have heard that some men get jealous of their kids if the moms favor them and don't put the man first so I guess that could be a possibility and if he really did have medical concerns he was even more vulnerable.

The people that are supposed to protect him and put him first being the ones to cause him harm is just something I cannot fathom.

Some of these cases really make you ponder forced sterilization.

I also wonder if mom still had enough time and energy with only one child to sufficiently cater to dad (in HIS opinion!) but adding a second child to the mix was enough of a stressor (and rightfully so!) that her time and energy was being taken up care for TWO very young children that dad felt he was getting the attention he felt he deserved. If so, he may have blamed his son for this loss of attention and focused his resentment and anger on him. Too bad he couldn’t be an adult, a man, a father and realize that this age/time is precious and goes by way too quickly, that there will be time in the future for more one on one time between the parents, but for now the priority is the children and they should enjoy their time together with their children.
 
Fayette County District Attorney Andrew Hamlin is asking that court hearings related to the case of missing toddler Kahleb Collins be continued. Kahleb's mother Wendy Bailey and his grandfather John Bailey were due in court January 15th for preliminary hearings.

In the court filing D.A. Hamlin says the state is in the process of completing the investigative file and asks that the cases be re-set to the next available preliminary hearing docket. The judge has not ruled on the request.

An update was posted on Friday 1/11 - Fayette County Judge Merrell Nolen has granted the state's request to continue the preliminary hearing. A new hearing date is set for February 11, 2025 at 9a.m.

the crib in the backyard stuffed with junk? blankets? and next to all those trash bags... would that have been a result of the search? like whatever was collected by the police and wasn't deemed evidence, they left in/around those trash bags out in the open backyard? or was that dumped by the parents and already there... I wonder if that was Kahlebs

I was thinking it may have been discarded items from the house by the landlord. The only remaining adults who resided there are now in jail and I imagine their rent has not been paid in some time by now. If LE has released the property as a crime scene the landlord may be cleaning up what was left by the Collins family when the abruptly vacated due to being incarcerated.

The state may have seated a Grand Jury which also takes time.

No new info but the investigation is going strong.

Preliminary hearing is rapidly approaching (2/11/25). I wonder if it will be delayed again? Sounds like LE is still busy trying to locate poor little Kahleb :(

Maybe the two devil assistants sitting in jail will suprise us and reveal something helpful to LE. One can always hope ...
