AL AL - Kahleb Rowan Collins, 1, his dad & sis were killed in a car crash, he wasn't with them, Fayette County, 8 Dec 2024

Snipped from the article. I have questions. Did he harm the child or know about the injury and didn't report what happened? The accident must have brought the fact that baby Kahleb was missing prior to the accident yo light. Why did the dad post what he did in November?

"Charging documents against Bailey say he committed the alleged crime on Sept. 10 in Fayette County.

The criminal complaint states Bailey “failed to report a missing child by delaying to make or failing to cause to be made the report with willful and reckless disregard for the safety of the child and the child suffered serious bodily harm or death, to wit: physical injuries to the child and the child was removed from the home and taken to an unknown location and no report was made by any resident of the home.”

Also I can't believe the little girl was buried while her mother is still in critical condition. So many strange things going on here!

So maternal Grandpa Bailey, who resides with the parents, is charged with not reporting the child missing on the date of September 10, 2024. And yet Kahleb's father wrote on November 6th on FB that his son wasn't "doing well" and may need surgery. Was the dad beginning to introduce the Kahleb is very ill story in anticipation of having eventually to explain why his son fell off the face of the earth?

what a mess. So where would they have disposed of this baby? I absolutely detest these parents who disappear their kids and nobody knows it for months or years. The world is big and littles are not, how will LE ever find this poor baby's remains? How on earth did they explain bubby's absence to his big sissy? Can you imagine? One day her little bubby is there, the next he is just poof and never there again??

So many more questions then answers . I hope they can find the little alive and well but we all most likely know the outcome we've seen it to many times. It's such a shame there's always other options . I hope the mother survives and explains or that the littles grandfather does the right thing for a change jmoo

The dad posted about Kahleb having medical issues after he was no longer in the household. The parents told those who inquired about Kahleb's absence that he was with relatives elsewhere and had health issues.

I am beginning to suspect the accident that killed Kahleb's dad, sissy and almost his mother was no accident and was a planned suicide attempt between the parents. Which is why nobody had restraints on. Only mom didn't die. So while she sits in critical condition the only adult available for charges within their household is grandpa Bailey. I hope he knows what was done with Kahleb. I hope he shares that info with authorities.

I note both parents' FB pages do not feature any posts beyond March of 2023, meaing anything referencing Kahleb no longer is visible. Reports say Steve posted about Kahleb being sick but that post no longer exists, nor does any post making reference to him except an announcement that his birth is imminent in 7 weeks made by Steve in February.

Pam's got some explaining to do if she survives her injuries. MOO

I really am praying that the mother of these two children lives. So that hopefully the truth will be told about this case. I have an uneasy feeling as well as others do on this case. The fact that nobody in the vehicle had seatbelts on and the way the vehicle veered off the road with no tread marks present to suggest that the driver even attempted to correct the vehicle seems particularly odd. I would hope and pray that the family member who was arrested for not reporting the child as missing would tell what he or she knows so that the truth would come out sooner rather than later. Praying for the babies' safe return and that he is with other family members or something of that sort.

I couldn't locate Steven's second FB page on this thread but found it, he uses the name Brad Collins. THIS is the account reports have been referencing and contains the Kahleb isn't doing well post. So for some reason, after March of 2023 both parents started new FB pages, dad's using his middle name. Since we can't sleuth mom (yet) I won't bother linking her FB accounts.

See post #29 ;-)

A missing child alert was issued by ALEA on Tuesday:
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public's assistance in locating Kahleb Collins. Kahleb Rowan Collins is a one year old white male. He was last seen on September 4, 2024 in Winfield, Alabama. If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of Kahleb Collins, please contact the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office at (205) 932-3205 or call 911.

The fatal vehicle crash was less than a mile from the family's home on a winding two-lane road, Fayette County 73. Crash investigation markers reveal the path the truck took when it left the roadway and hit a tree. There were no visible skid marks Monday more than a week after the crash.

The complaint reads in part "by delaying to make, or failing to cause to be made the report with willful and reckless disregard for the safety of the child and the child suffered serious bodily harm or death, to-wit; physical injuries to the child, and the child was removed from the home and taken to an unknown location, and no report was made by any resident of the home."

According to an Alabama Uniform Traffic Crash Report, the driver was going an estimated 92 miles per hour in a 45 mph speed limit zone, while it was raining.
..
the driver is believed to have been driving aggressively.

Bailey is charged under a statue applying to custodians, which are defined as, “A child’s father or mother, whether biological or adoptive, a child’s legally appointed guardian, or the spouse of a child’s father, mother, or legally appointed guardian. In the case where only one parent has legal custody, the term means the parent with legal custody or his or her spouse.”

So the maternal grandfather is the legal custodian of Kahled ?

COMPLAINT REVEALS NEW ALLEGATIONS:

*As a child's custodian Bailey had a duty to report the child missing

*Willful and reckless disregard for the safety of the child

Bbm.

Hmm.
Anger issues ?

Eta : I was thinking an intentional crash aka suicide, but now considering maybe a blow up/rage/argument, and he lost control of the vehicle ?
I'm guessing they determined at the outset & (sorry, graphic ) the position of his body -- that he was the driver ?
Omo.

The easiest answer is the small baby was thrown and is somewhere nearby. The more disturbing answer is something happened to him before and the crash was not accidental.moo
Very very tragic for their loved ones either way.
When you say not accidental, what are you thinking of? Suicide by the father? The vehicle being run off the road by another driver? TBH the most likely explanation to me is that this was a simple accident caused by the father losing control of his vehicle.
