Food for thought: why was he driving so aggressively as reported , plus with his toddler unrestrained? All of them did not have belts, why?
One of the news articles linked further up the thread mentioned that it was or had been raining so it's possible that there would have been no skid marks on a wet road surface. Also, given the vehicle's estimated speed at the time of the accident, the driver would not have had time to think of braking, let alone applying them.LE stated there were no skid marks on the road where the accident happened. I wonder if this was intentional or maybe a medical emergency or something? IMO
I think this is far and away the most likely answer. The first responders on scene had no idea they needed to locate a small, unrestrained child. He likely was not conscious or they would have heard crying.Since Dad and the toddler were unrestrained, per the article above, I wonder if little Kayleb was also unrestrained and was expelled from the vehicle into the woods.
Wouldn't the only way for a 1 year old to be unrestrained in a car, to be being held by someone? Likely Mom in this case.I think this is far and away the most likely answer. the driver is believed to have been driving aggressively.

Father of missing 1-year-old ‘aggressively’ drove 92 mph before dying in crash with 2-year-old girl
Steven Bradley “Brad” Collins and his critically injured wife were not wearing seat belts and their daughter was unrestrained.www.al.com
I'm thinking he intentionally ran off the road. When you say not accidental, what are you thinking of? Suicide by the father? The vehicle being run off the road by another driver? TBH the most likely explanation to me is that this was a simple accident caused by the father losing control of his vehicle.
If this was a simple accident caused by the father losing control of his vehicle then in the picture below there would be skid marks in the wet grass/mud. Instinct would cause him to break. When you say not accidental, what are you thinking of? Suicide by the father? The vehicle being run off the road by another driver? Sounds like his "crime" was not reporting abuse/missing or death of the little boy.![]()
Grandfather charged with failing to report 1-year-old missing months before wreck killed father, sister
Kahleb Rowan Collins' mother, 22-year-old Wendy “Pam” Bailey, remains in critical condition after she was injured in the wreck.www.al.com
"Charging documents against Bailey say he committed the alleged crime on Sept. 10 in Fayette County."
It's possible that this was a suicide - on the basis of the information we have that can't be ruled out. However there are factors which make me think otherwise. If this was a simple accident caused by the father losing control of his vehicle then in the picture below there would be skid marks in the wet grass/mud. Instinct would cause him to break.
They were less than a mile from home, driving 92pmh, with no one (not even the 24 month old) in seat belts.
This looks like a suicide. M00

Authorities suspect toddler missing for months before parents' fatal crash in Alabama
Reports that Kahleb was unaccounted for came after his parents and two-year-old sister were in a fatal car crash on Dec. 8.kfoxtv.com
Articles state the child was last seen on Sept 4.I find it really interesting that in the Grandfather's charges there is an exact date (in September) listed for his failure to report the missing child. Wish we knew more details about how that date came about.
No no no no....I do not want to hear that. The CBS 42 reporter in the linked video says that the mom works for the landfill, and the police are searching at the landfill today.
