The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is searching for a 4-day-old baby who was taken from his home in Fairfield Tuesday afternoon.

JCSO says deputies are at the home in the 600 block of Jerry D. Coleman Street. According to early reports, the mother of the newborn boy put him in his playpen to sleep while she also took a nap. When she woke up, he was gone.

The family says the baby was wearing a striped onesie, a yellow cap and yellow mittens, as shown in the picture below.

“Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 600 block of Jerry D. Coleman Street about 2 p.m. Tuesday. The caller told police that Kamarian Taylor had been taken from his playpen or crib while his mother was taking a nap.”

“Shortly before 3 p.m., that female was taken into custody in the 2900 block of Sixth Avenue in Bessemer. Bessemer Lt. Christian Clemons said the woman is being taking to the sheriff’s office but no baby was recovered.”

“Family members said they believe the woman planned this for some time, befriended Kamarian’s mother during her pregnancy. She was with mother and child earlier today when the baby went to a doctor’s visit. The woman posted pictures of Kamarian on Facebook earlier Tuesday, both at Kamarian’s home and after the baby was taken.”

“We have that person in custody. We have the car,” said Deputy Chief David Agee. “But we do not have this child, this 4-day-old male child and the child is somewhere and we’re looking everywhere for that child.”

Authorities throughout Jefferson County are checking out leads.

“So if someone turns up with a child you haven’t seen before, please contact us,’' Agee said.

I have a tiny bit of hope that he might have been given to someone by the POI and is being cared for. Little guy can’t go long without eating.

You can see from the little yellow mittens that he was well cared for so he didn't scratch his eyes. And that cute outfit and hat. Oh I hope that other person cares enough to tell where he is!!!!!!!! fast!!!!!!!

Oh instilla, that article that you posted said the woman befriended her DURING her pregnancy and posted photos after the baby was missing. This poor family.

The articles have changed since her arrest. Did I read correctly that when they found her and car she was with a male who ran? All IMO until confirmed
Side note. I would really like to think if she wanted this baby to claim as her own, she wouldn't hurt him. ( My lips to Gods ears) again IMO

Washington believes Brown recently resurfaced after learning Washington was pregnant with a boy.

“After I had my baby, she was at my house every day, constantly,” said Washington.

Washington’s family knew Brown, and Washington said she did not think she had any reason to be concerned.

Washington told CBS 42 that Brown even helped her get Kamarion to a doctors appointment Tuesday. Washington said when they returned, Brown encouraged her to take prescribed medication for stomach pains she was having after her pregnancy.

“She was telling me to take two of them because it was going to help the pain, so I ended up doing that and the next thing I knew, I was out,” said Washington.

After waking up, Washington said she realized her child and Brown were both gone. She immediately called police, who began a search.

The infant was located at an undisclosed location and then reunited with Washington.

After a missing child alert was issued, Washington said she began to receive tips from people on social media who reported seeing a photo of the infant being held by another woman.

“Apparently, when she was at my house, she was taking pictures of my baby and sending them to a man, telling him that was his baby. She sent the man pictures of my stomach when I was pregnant saying that she was pregnant,” said Washington.
