You misunderstood what I said. When the police presence showed up, I'm pretty sure most residents had come out to see what was going on and the little girl seen hadn't been hidden from view or knowledge for 4 hours. I mean, if I was the mother of a young child living there, knowing who they were looking for, I'd be standing at my door immediately saying, "My child looks similar, but it's not her."
I seriously doubt someone was just minding their own business, oblivious to this whole search, staying put in their apartment.
I don't know if that's coming across in print like I'm trying to say it
The tip could have/likely had zero to do with the young child living at the complex though. They likely had other reasons to search every apartment and vehicle. The mother was holding the young child outside for at least an hour while they continued searching. She was even outside before the SWAT teams rolled in.
There are probably hundreds of 3 year old black girls living in apartment complexes in Birmingham. I really don't think that was the tip that led to all this.
