Regarding the previous reports that Kamille McKinney had been found.
Jefferson County Sheriff Mark Pettway told CBS 42’s Art Franklin in a phone call that he had received misinformation from one of his deputies in the field.

I've never heard of LE calling a reporter, either. Maybe the Sheriff was asked by a reporter and then gave them the false information. It all happened so fast, maybe that's why it was reported before it was cleared up.

It's not that unusual for LE to call certain reporters. And vice versa. They work together in many cases. Reporters sometimes get leads when they are filming interviews or taking photos. And they pass those on.

And LE often calls in the press to film and show coverage of victim's families pleas, etc. And occasionally LE needs some 'phoney' info out there, for strategic purposes.

So it is not unheard of that LE calls their sources.

Nothing to be embarrassed about. Glad you are here with us posting. We were all confused, and we live here, in terms of what was happening. What a mess! The worst part of it all, is Cupcake hasn't been found.

I swear, this was a set up of some sort. Send LE in one direction while the real crime- however anyone wishes to take it- was happening elsewhere. Whether she was moved, alive or deceased, during that time, someone wanted LE in a different area for that time frame.

I'm gonna go out on a limb an say these people are no strangers to Cupcake. I believe it is being handled as it is (stranger abduction) by LE for a very good reason and I believe within the next 24 hours those reasons will be made public. Praying for a safe Cupcake. But the POIs in custody, they are real pieces of work. This makes me very concerned for this beautiful baby.

People caught with Child should be listed in the Sex Offender Registry. If they are not then we need to make major changes in our laws to protect the children like Dulce and Cupcake.

Yeah, this usually doesn't happen but I think there were so many people on the scene because of all the police presence and they were really hoping she had been found. Someone likely heard she had been found and reporters started reporting it before they had verified the information.
Imo

For all that we know, someone could have said " my daughter just had her baby at the hospital" and everyone around her cheered, and others mistook it that Cupcake was found. Or some fool was happy he won a game in fantasy football. You catch my drift. The cheer may have had absolutely nothing to do with Cupcake being found, but others might have heard one small group cheering and it just caught on.

"I wanted to reach out to just one individual. If you know where Kamille is...if you have her...and you're not sure what to do. I want to just talk to you for one second. I want to tell you safe passage is the way to go. Please bring her to one of our fire stations, police station, a hospital. If you don't know what to do or where to go and you're frightened, we're here to help you. Our goal is to reunite this 3-year-old baby with her family. We ask that if you know where Kamille is that you contact us, that you please bring her to a safe location, and we will follow up from there. We need your help. We believe you know where she is. And we believe someone has her. Please bring this to a safe end and place her back in the safe arms of her family and our police. Think safe passage."

Thank you - that's what I recalled but I wanted to re-establish a starting point again today. I can't shake the feeling that something is going on behind the scenes here - it was an awfully big turnout with LE today for that search - and awfully public too IMO. wonder why?

Indeed, that was a huge crowd there, wasn't it? It's Wednesday- don't people have work, college, school to attend? I can totally understand family and close friends coming, but that was like a crowd at a free summer concert.
