Maybe they didn’t pick out the correct child. Maybe Cupcake wasn’t the intended.

The retribution angle would make more sense if the child was abducted from near her own residence. The babymomma doesn’t live in this community.

If the father is wrapped up in the game and screwed over some higher level Mexican cartel guys They would use underlings to put the tail on momma. It’s hard to imagine they could pick out the correct child.

I’m not big on the gang angle because it’s really rare. Back in my day kids weren’t part of retaliation. They were off limits.

In Tyshawn’s case his father killed someone in this persons family. Tyshawn wasn’t taken from home either. His killer met him at the basketball courts and played basketball with him for a minute and then lured him.

I don’t think it’s the dad. I think it’s someone close to the mom. I think dad knows what and who he’s up against tho. That is why dad is being kept away from mom. Moo

Well at first I thought (hoped) it was a retribution situation, directed at Dad for some reason. If it was, then she might possibly still be alive. But, on seeing that video it looks more like an opportunistic pedo abduction, and if so then I think she was killed soon after she was taken, or will soon be.

I thought the same thing at first. Could be that dad or someone in the family WAS involved in some shady dealings. However, I now feel that it was an impromptu kidnapping. What I don’t understand is why LE can’t take “suspect” 2 in for questioning as the police chief said “we believe we know who this suspect is.” (In questions after showing the video) I’m going with the idea that they want to talk to POI 1 to confirm some things. MOO

Just listened again and To clarify he does say where one of the POI’s. So another incorrect reporting by a news outlet. Still want to know where that area is.

My guess would be they have cell phone triangulation from PS or other unnamed POI.

The 5 year total is going to look scary because you're dealing with huge numbers on a small scale, eg a 5 percent increase sends the line shooting across the graph. If you look at a wider year range, you will definitely see a decline in crime rates.

The video could have been edited to proper normal speed. It’s in some kind of jumpy slow fast forward. Many people can be recognized by how they walk, their gait. Free video editing software could alter it. It’s not helpful watching what looks like a Charlie Chaplin movie or someone jogging, as others thought, instead of smooth normal speed video playback.

A search grid in a densely populated urban area? Rural or more less dense and sure, large party search grids I can see, but anywhere close to this crime and people are going to be falling over each other. I think they quickly realized it wasn’t a good idea and cancelled it. So yes, it was not well thought out and appears desperate to me.

At first I was impressed but not so much today. Heck, if a reporter hadn’t asked we wouldn’t know CC was in that video. His entire presentation of that video still leaves more questions. He wasn’t clear in telling us what he wanted and gave confusing answers when reporters asked for clarity. Not in a way that he was being guarded for good reason but more the inability to properly convey the issues.

What if LE knows who suspect 2 is (as the police chief indicated in the questioning portion of the video presentation) and is trying to force his hand by asking the public to help identify POI 1? Perhaps they are closely watching suspect 2 to observe his actions. Just a thought! MOO

If I’m not mistaken it was AL.com’s report that stated the man had a limp. I’ve not read anything from an official LE report that stated the man had a limp. MOO

I did some looking, and it looks like there is a gate across the cul-de-sac entrance where Cupcake was stolen. Here is the picture from google earth:


Does any of our locals know if this gate is locked up 24/7? Looks like there are parking spots behind the green house and daycare area, so I'm wondering if maybe at one time that little dead end street allowed auto traffic?

Looks like there is a fence that surrounds the back of the Tom Brown homes. Does it go all the way around the cul-de-sac? Was little Cupcake outside the fence? Can anyone make out a gate?

You can see the playground very clearly in this shot. Did CC's brother say he was playing on the playground at time of abduction in one of the news videos? Or am I just remembering incorrectly?
