Oh... I completely agree with you. I have no qualms about sending my child with a sibling in a safe environment. We don't live in a neighborhood and I won't even let that 12 year old go check the mail because I can't see the box from the house. I have let them play in several trusted areas, though. I certainly wouldn't feel safe in their neighborhood, but maybe they did? Just a few miles away, I walked several places with just me and my youngest child during a conference at the BJCC. We've walked from the conference center up to Top Golf. UAB isn't too far away and there's a large children's hospital, medical community and teaching college. There's people out and about walking there all the time, but I would be nervous. Heck... I consider the entire Bham area unsafe, but then I didn't feel unsafe walking in the small area next to the BJCC that was well lit and seemed more controlled. Maybe these families feel the same? I mean, if they didn't feel it was safe to them, certainly they wouldn't live there, much less have a birthday party?

There's lots of busy roads very close by. One takes you straight to the airport and interstate. I need to look at the location where the POIs were located in reference to the community.

To add, if someone were planning on taking a child, wouldn't they dress less conspicuous for the crime? I don't know if she's involved or not, or maybe it was a sudden crime of opportunity, but I would think if one were planning to be involved in a crime they wouldn't want to stand out. But hey, I've never been involved in anything of this nature. But I will say, I would dress for the occasion.
He could have pretended that he was there to pick up a child from the Birthday party, stepped out of the car and said something like, "Hey, where's the Birthday girl?! (or boy) I've got candy. Who wants some candy?"
Then grabs the first child who comes running over, puts her in the car, and drives off without anybody noticing but a few kids, who just assume it was a parent picking up their child.
All in just seconds.
It was probably dark by that time, and hard to see what he was wearing.
Imo

I feel like there’s too much credit being given here.

If someone wanted to kidnap a child, keep the child or personally engage the child, etc - they consider things like clothes, vehicle, etc

If someone wants some quick cash (drugs etc) to pick up a child and hand the child off, I’m not sure the step by step is processed well in his/her head

obviously we don’t know at all but not wearing the clothes, not using the car - it all seems like too much credit for them

Was this a child's birthday party or an adult's, it was 8:30 pm?

I hope this child is still alive. If there are several people involved I think the chances might be better that she is. I hope so.

It's odd that three unsupervised young girls were recently abducted from public places / playgrounds.

According to the location of the POIs (Woodside Condos) from the housing complex, they would have traveled northeast towards the interstate where 20/59 splits. 20/59 is an interstate that combines halfway through the states of Mississippi and Alabama. I59 starts off of I10 in New Orleans. I20 comes out of Dallas/Ft Worth. They combine in Meridian, MS and stay together until east of Bham where I59 heads north to Chattanooga and I20 heads to Atlanta. This area is known as the "Sex Trafficking Superhighway."

$150 billion human trafficking industry flows through Birmingham

The housing community and the condos are only 9 miles apart.

So basically it could have been any little girl there?

Great post. Did we ever hear anything about motive in Ahlora's case? It seems strange that a 22 yo female would kidnap a random child IMO. I admit it sounds a bit far fetched, but I wonder if they are investigating any type of connection between the three girls. I hope someone at least brings it up in the next presser if there is one.

I was a helicopter parent. I would not have let my child be supervised by an older child. No child should have to feel responsible for another. I am sure the older child would like to played as well.

Human trafficking isn’t only sexual. Human trafficking of children for organs is a real thing. Some believe higher in black children because they don’t get the media attention other children when they go missing. So they fly under the radar better.

I’m not saying this is the case here.

And it could be for black market adoption too, right? (Please let it be someone who wanted a beautiful girl to love and care for)

I wondered that too! Almost looks like a skeleton costume. Ahh... really wondering what was going on ... and where is Cupcake? Why aren’t these people talking?

I took a photo off the video of what she is wearing. Attached

I doubt we will hear much about Ahlora's abductor if it turns out she has some kind of cognitive issues and is being treated medically.JMO,not fact.

If this is part of a child trafficking ring I believe they would do rental cars and not dress "loudly." Same with drug rings. They get new rental cars daily, wear subtle clothing, blend in, etc.

If it's just a crime of opportunity they don't think these things through.

The police chief said he does believe others are involved in the abduction, but declined to elaborate. He said they have done an exhaustive searching for video evidence linking the suspects to the crime. "We’re putting the pieces of the puzzle together but it takes time to follow the leads, the trails,'' he said.

That scares me.

Well, I don't know. I was just giving an example of how easy it might be to take a child.
We would have to know more about the suspect and the motive and whether or not this particular child was targeted.
If she was, he could have been watching and waiting for an opportunity. Imo
