Is there a video of mother's interview?
You can see her in the very beginning of this one.
OMG, I didn't see her mother in the other videos. Heartbreaking. :(

I felt like he knew the people in the store like " hey, how's it going" kind of thing, he even has a smile on his face. Maybe he's a regular there or know's someone who works there. IMO

I thought the same thing but we don't know yet if that was before or after the kidnapping. MOO

I agree. In neighborhoods like this it’s normal to see people you know at the local bodega or corner store. You usually frequent the same store often.

Also, it seems like the absolute dumbest thing to do to park out in the open in the condo complex where you live and would obviously be seen by other residents while you are on the run after kidnapping a child and are the subject of an Amber Alert and all over the news...they must have known there were going to be found extremely quickly, no? They could have made any efforts at all to hide the vehicle but they chose not to...why?
That’s easy...diversion.

And how many parents there were? Seems strange that there were no parents with the children during a kid's birthday party, right?

It’s not strange to me. Especially in poorer communities there tends to be much less supervision of young kids in the neighborhood. Kids play in groups of varying ages unattended by adults, frequently. At parties adults will often socialize separately while kids run around outside:

“Middle-class and higher-income parents see their children as projects in need of careful cultivation, says Annette Lareau, a University of Pennsylvania sociologist whose groundbreaking research on the topic was published in her book “Unequal Childhoods: Class, Race and Family Life.” They try to develop their skills through close supervision and organized activities, and teach children to question authority figures and navigate elite institutions.

Working-class parents, meanwhile, believe their children will naturally thrive, and give them far greater independence and time for free play. They are taught to be compliant and deferential to adults.

There are benefits to both approaches. Working-class children are happier, more independent, whine less and are closer with family members, Ms. Lareau found. Higher-income children are more likely to declare boredom and expect their parents to solve their problems.”
Class Differences in Child-Rearing Are on the Rise

“This is quite different to working-class and low-income parents, who often adopt the “accomplishment of natural growth” approach. Here, children are given more freedom to choose their leisure activities, and parents interfere in their lives only when necessary. Kids can play freely on their own, with siblings, or neighbours instead of being constantly supervised by adults.”
School demands for parents to do more hits low-income and minority students hardest

I remember thinking what a detailed description of the car from an 11yr old.....to have virtually no description of the people involved other than white female and black male. Yes, now I'm really wondering if this poor little 11yr old just gave a description of a vehicle that caught his/her eye in the neighborhood but in reality this little girl was missing much earlier than we think.

Wasn’t a group of kids playing when she was taken? Didn’t a bunch of them see this happen?

Did we ever verify when the POI was recorded on the gas station video? Before or after the alleged kidnapping?
I just cant seem to get his almost giddy facial expression and demeanor out of my head. Something is indeed very off. MOO

Oh can you link to that so I can watch?

"On Monday, Birmingham Police Chief Patrick Smith and Mayor Randall Woodfin held a press conference. Smith said the two detained are undergoing questioning. He also said investigators believe more people are in the kidnapping. The chief said they are expanding the Amber Alert to other states."

I hope so but I’ve only seen the 11 year old mentioned. If it was a group of kids I’d feel better about the abduction story.... instead of worrying it was made up by a scared individual child.

  • Kamille was with her mother, April Thomas, and other family members at the birthday party in a parking lot off 41st Place North.
  • Children attending the party said a black male got out of an SUV and put Kamille in the vehicle.
  • Birmingham police investigators have said from the start that they do not believe the abduction was the result of a custodial issue.

Well, this one states that "children" put her in the vehicle. I truly hope that each child has been professionally questioned individually. Hopefully, they had the same or similar story.

It says that children said black male got out of an SUV and put her in the vehicle, right there in the part you quoted, not that children put her in the vehicle.
