Now, authorities are offering a 5-thousand-dollar reward to anyone with information. During a press conference Tuesday, the Birmingham Police Department also say a private citizen added a-thousand-dollars to that reward, bringing the total to 6 thousand.

Investigators say they are questioning two people, but they have not made any arrests. It is not known if those people were the same ones in the vehicle when Kamille was taken.

Birmingham Police and ALEA are still searching for a missing 3-year-old girl who they say is in “extreme danger.”

Kamille McKinney: Lawyer offers to rep AMBER Alert toddler’s abductor for $1 as reward is increased
[...]

Local and state officials in Alabama are offering a cash award for information that leads to the safe return of a 3-year-old girl who vanished on Saturday night.

The Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office and Governor Kay Ivey are reportedly offering $5,000 awards, and an anonymous citizen is offering $1,000, for information leading to the discovery of Kamille McKinney. Birmingham Police Chief Patrick Smith said during Tuesday’s press conference that authorities believe the missing toddler is still in the area, according to WIAT.

[...]

Smith said they have two persons of interest in custody in connection with McKinney’s disappearance. Charges haven’t been filed against the pair but an update is forthcoming, he said.

Thank you, @leighEg!

That’s just rich the dist attorney is tagging onto the governors coat tails. It’s 100% the governor and the dist attorney couldn’t be on more polar opposite ends of the political spectrum. I think that’s partly why your seeing this ridiculous grandstanding about a small reward.

BTW, I don’t believe the chiefs perceived attitude has as much to do with SM as it does being frustrated with the lack of his own communities cooperation. I’m seeing more of a dire look. The words he’s using seem to point to that far more then concern over SM. He didn’t even mention it until asked where he was quite somber and dire when delivering his comments about appealing to the public and “Knowing” there is information out there and “people on the sidelines” who are not coming forward.

Glad, I'm not the only one with these feelings.

Just for interest sake... Google says Birmingham has a crime stoppers, wonder why they didn't get an extra 5k from them???? Unless, the 5k is coming out of crime stoppers and Governor claiming credit.

This is the most bizarre case with the exception of the Day Baby in VA. Missing baby, mom and dad tell/changes different stories, dad admits baby died and he buried body, they never found. They charge him with tampering with corpse and the whole thing throw out of court.

Wonder if they will turn case over to the FBI? I know they are involved. Most of the time at presser the FBI is present in the line up. I found it odd, it's just COP or COP and DA. No FBI. No community leaders, no family. Just odd.

A couple of events were going on at the same time. OK, were these adult events and not children events? Trying to figure out why she was dropped off.
I think it was Kids Birthday Party and a Football Game on TV at the same time.

Apologies.
No need to apologize - this thread has been moving fairly quickly and it's easy to miss things. No harm at all in seeing things repeated. I very much appreciate your hard work in all of these cases! MOO

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said an older, dark-colored SUV pulled up and a woman snatched Kamille up into the vehicle before they drove off, WMAZ reported.
The family did not immediately call the police, but instead, searched the neighborhood themselves first for the missing toddler, WBRC reported.

“As many families think that they can resolve their issue on their own, they think that they can do just a quick search of the neighborhood or area to find a missing person or missing child,” Chief Smith told reporters. “There was a little bit of a delay in getting the information to law enforcement so we can conduct a thorough grid search of the entire area before putting out an AMBER Alert.”

Chief Smith said police had taken two persons of interest into custody – a black man and a white woman who were believed to be linked to the kidnapping, Today reported.

The chief said investigators believed there were more suspects involved in the kidnapping.

Oh it’s definitely more than odd especially when you consider back channel chatter. Crime stoppers was in the media until the press conference yesterday. The mayor of Birmingham was at yesterday’s PC but my opinion is some pride is in play here. Birmingham is mainly occupied and governed by minorities. MOO is they want to solve this themselves but the longer it goes on the more help they will need. Now it appears they are doing a thorough job. They have solved some difficult cases in the past but this one...?

One last thing, the word “RING” keeps popping in my mind. I hope this isn’t the case. We don’t want to hear the word “ring” in there anywhere either al though it could indicate she’s alive. Double edged sword.

This has to be more simple than all this ring 🤬🤬🤬🤬.
