Forget about the two mystery men being on video or not, I think that if there was one shot of Paighton on video from that night, LE would release that! Walking in the background, ordering a drink, dancing on the dance floor, etc. Sounds like the surveillance didn't offer anything of value.

Yes, I'm starting to wonder about this coworker also. She's the only one that saw the two strange men from a distance? From across the bar. Inside of a bar that likely required a cover pay to get in the door, decreasing the likelihood that the two mystery men just popped in and out again without being spotted by anyone other than the coworker.

Random musings

1. The person she texted “I feel in trouble” (paraphrased) has been described as a friend and as a coworker. I’d like to know which. Did Paighton text her because she felt close enough to ask for help, or just because she knew the person was out/awake and possibly nearby. Would a close friend allow a recovering addict with no transportation to just leave? How did she expect Paighton to get home safely? Even after a major argument I think a true friend would’ve tried to stop her from leaving. Moo

2. Did she text or call anyone else? She seems almost unusually close to her mother, possibly due to trying to stay accountable. Imo, most 29 year old women don’t text their mom when they get to work, when they take their break and when they leave. With that type of typical communication, did she attempt to reach her mother? Parents often tell their kids (even adult children) if you’re in trouble, call me.

3. When did she come into contact with the two men? Had they been customers of the Tin Roof and been there for awhile too? Were they watching Paightons group of friends? If they were bouncers, I think we’d know, other bar patrons would notice them likely sitting by the door. In fact, do we even know they were inside? Did Paighton leave the bar and then come into contact with them outside?

4. the friend not receiving the text until the following day seems odd. Even if the friend left immediately after Paighton left, 1.5 hours seems kinda fast to go from bar to not checking phone. Maybe she had it on silent, but 12:15 is kinda early on a Friday night to be so deeply asleep (assuming because why else wouldn’t she check her phone) not to hear a text, especially because I’d be waiting to hear from her knowing she left without a ride. Idk...just isn’t sitting right with me and I think we’ve been told a very watered down, half true story with the argument/leaving/text timeline.
Agree with all of this...

Another thing that isn't sitting well with me are the two heavyset black men she supposedly left with. There are lots of pictures from that night of the bar.. . Visibility was excellent and capacity is only around 300 people. Not too many people fit the description heavyset.. and here we have two black men with a missing woman. Yet no one has come forward confirming that any of them were seen at Tin Roof. Of course LE may have corroboration of these facts, but they and the ones who can confirm are all silent.

All the back and forth is frustrating, this could easily be cleared up with a press conference. The family holds a vigil, but LE can't hold a PC to divulge the basic facts in this missing person's case?
That tells me it's because they have nothing .
What are they going to tell - surveillance video was useless, eye witnesses know nothing more than already published. No information coming in....

hmm, now I'm interested in what happened that afternoon before Tin Roof. PH left work, presumable around 4 or 5PM and drove to a coworker's house and then carpooled to Tin Roof in the coworkers car leaving Paighton's car at that friend's house.

I wonder if the stop at the house was also an opportunity to pre-party or pre-game (drugs or alcohol). While PH may have been in recovery, perfectly working through her program, it seems possible that she wasn't on the perfect path since she was going to bars? Not judging, just observing.

Do we really know if Paighton ever made it to Tin Roof that night?

According to her Linkedin account she has been a national account manager for a trucking company for almost 2 years.

There is a location at 925 34th St. N. Birmingham, AL 35222. Walking, that's 2.4 miles, about 1 hour from Tin Roof per MapQuest's optimum route.
Weather on the night of 12/20 was around 50 degrees all night; no rain; clouds varied between mostly cloudy, fair, and cloudy; wind was 5 to 9 mph from E to NE; moon was waning crescent. Heavy rain on 12/22.
Just some facts.

1 - I've thought about this too and if the bar was crowded, very possible PH was talking to the two men, coworker was busy talking to other people/friends and looked up and PH was already gone. Coworker may not have known she left. I WOULD be curious to know if coworker sent a text and asked PH where she was, especially if her car was at coworkers house. I don't blame coworker for letting PH leave, many scenarios where PH could have left without coworker even knowing.

4 - I answered another post like this earlier. I can hit a bar at 9PM and easily be back home and asleep by midnight. Every person is different and the bar scene is ok with me until it gets later and people get drunk and annoying. So I can easily see them all going out, maybe the band was boring to them, maybe the disagreement and PH leaving without notice put a damper on coworkers evening. Lots of scenarios here too. I don't have my phone on during the night, someone could text me over and over and I wouldn't wake up at all. Only reason I ever leave it on is if my teenage son is out.

But...…..it does bring up the point that it really makes me wonder if coworker tried to call/text PH BEFORE the 12:14 text. I mean, a disagreement between them, PH left alone, car still at coworkers house at midnight. Was this typical behavior for PH (despite what mom may know, parents don't always know everything) and there wasn't a reason for coworker to be concerned, or maybe PH let coworker know she was leaving and knew these men and there wasn't a reason for coworker to be worried.

I have to think since it was reported as "strangers" that LE has confirmation to think that PH didn't give notice she was leaving and possibly knew these men. I still think maybe she did know them casually or that she was slipped something.

If my friend disappeared from the bar, even with us having a disagreement, I would be texting calling non-stop po'd that she would pull something like that on me and I'm not sure I would sleep until I knew she was ok. NO judgment here for coworker, just my own personal feelings/thoughts, who ever thinks your friend will just disappear never to be heard from again (except those of us who follow crime cases).

I'm so curious to know what the disagreement was over (was it PH wanting to leave with the men and coworker advising her NOT to, was it PH wanted to drink and coworker knowing past history was telling her no or PH wanting to find drugs). It could just as easily be a fight over a guy. But I think this would be telling as to where PH's mindset was and possibly why she was leaving.

If there were multiple corroborating accounts of seeing these two mystery men, I would think at least one person would have had one single other tidbit of a description, regarding hair style, facial hair, clothing, etc? The fact that LE's only descriptor is "heavy-set" leads me to believe this description was from the one coworker mentioned.

Family and friends gather for a prayer vigil for Paighton Houston

ABC33/40 news video at link.

Dec 30, 2019

Meanwhile new information from Birmingham Police.

Security video pulled from the bar has not helped police.

The two men-- Paighton's friends say she left the bar with---have not been identified.

Police will not confirm foul play was involved.

However she is considered to be in danger.

[..]

We have the full timeline of her disappearance, as well as a statement from Governor Kay Ivey.

BBM - Well...……..this is sad and scary. I'm really curious to know if they were even SEEN on the video...……...

this isn't where she works. She's at Expedited Transport.
Ok thanks. I was just going off what she had listed on her Linkedin account.

Sounds like she was not seen on video leaving the bar. At this point, there would be no other reason to not show it,imo.

Trying to piece together if

* Is friend who allegedly received text from Paighton as stated in MSM is this the same co-worker friend she was out with?
Is this the same co-worker where Paighton allegedly left her car parked and allegedly rode to the TRB?

Not to imply any wrong doing on her co worker but trying to determine what this co worker thought when Paightons car was still parked and if this is the same co worker who witnessed the 2 men across bar with Paighton as stated in MSM.
What happened at 10:45 to start this nightmare inside or out side that bar!!!

I mean I am a protector bear/lion even with known or strangers. Who appear in danger.
Even addicts in recovery they know the triggers.
Nope I am not buying the Bull Shi* being sold here.
I shout foul play.
Red flags flying in LE's face

You arrive with me your leaving alive with me.
No matter what
Just saying

May Paighton have another chance at LIFE.
Let the New Year find her safe and sound.
I think many people hold the key to finding her and the answers her parents deserve.

Birmingham Police say that anyone with information about Houston’s whereabouts should call 205-297-8413 or 911. Tips can be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.

EBM to obey TOS and no time out.

Do you have an msm link for the debit card info and/ or car being left at the friends? I keep seeing these 2 things and an argument behind mentioned but have combed through multiple articles and have not seen this mentioned. Was it on a video? If so, maybe I missed it.
I've gone back through the pages and saw this stated but there was no link to back it up. Googling it I see numerous references to the ATM not being used since the disappearance which makes think LE is monitoring it which would be useless if the card was found.

Musings on my part. Maybe the one that wanted to leave early that evening was Paighton, she may have felt that she wasn't in the best environment and wanted to get out of the bar setting. Maybe friends were having fun and didn't want to leave. The two guys may have offered her a ride back to her car...
