I am curious about the fact that the vehicle was impounded so quickly after being reported as abandoned. Usually it takes hours if not days for abandoned vehicles to be towed off the interstate, and they are not usually taken to the police impound lot. RD hadn’t even been reported missing at that point. Does anyone have any insight?

The family of Ronald Dumas Jr., the missing Huntsville-area Realtor and father of three, is organizing a search for him on Sunday.

It’ll be in Tennessee near the areas where his vehicle was recovered and his phone is last known to have pinged, according to organizers Blunt Force Media. Sign up to volunteer HERE

The group organizing search parties says they are seeking people able to search in two-hour, half-day, or full-day shifts. More information can be found at this link.

Really strange. He had a working phone, yet it doesn't sound like he called or texted anyone to tell them his car had broken down. What if he was intoxicated and walked much further than expected?
Apparently his phone pinged 60 miles away in Jackson, TN and a search is planned in that area soon. I guess the question is whether or not he is/was with his phone.

Thanks for posting this, I’ve signed up to search.

This is another link to the search on Sunday. I’m about 2 hours from Jackson so I signed up. Many thanks to PommyMommy for the original post about the search.

That's so nice of you! I hope some clue is found as to what happened to him!

Do they know why he was in Tennessee? If he was three hours away from home in Huntsville at 6am, he must have had a reason.

... his family will form a search party this Sunday, December 29th. They want to see how they can help Huntsville Police and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation find more clues.

"They are relying on tips from the public to lead them," said Styles, referring to HPD. "So, we'd like to assist them by just talking to local people who are in maybe gas stations or businesses along that area, who may have seen him."

Here is a photo of what his vehicle looks like which might help jog someone's memory.

They don’t know that he was in Tennessee that’s just where his phone was pinging.

Somehow his phone and car ended up in Tennessee, with or without him. That seems to be central to the mystery of his whereabouts.

Ah yes, that’s true thanks for clarifying. The phone pinged 60 miles from where the car was found, and both in Tennessee. Not sure why I had it in my mind that his car was found in Alabama.

There is a $2,500 reward for information that helps find Dumas.

Huntsville Police said Dumas drove to Middle Tennessee, then drove west and left his car on the side of the road. Cell phone records show that he kept heading west and made it as far as Jackson before his phone turned off.

That’s the direction I’m taking it, too. He could be in a wooded area around where his car broke down, how thoroughly was that area searched? It’s possible he dropped his phone when he got out of the car (and didn’t know it), started walking, and someone stopped and found his phone and took it with them. To me, that makes more sense than he traveled 60 miles and hasn’t contacted anybody at all.
