Court documents show strained relationship between Savannah Hardin's parents

Hundreds of pages of court documents concerning the divorce and custody proceedings of Savannah Hardin's biological parents have shed light on the family's history.

Savannah's father Robert Hardin and her biological mother, Heather, shared joint custody of Savannah after divorcing in 2006. Heather, who lives in Florida, served as primary custodial parent.

But in May 2011, Robert filed a petition to have that agreement changed. He told the courts that he could provide a more stable environment for Savannah, claiming that her mother's lifestyle was not fit for custody of a child. Custody was eventually granted to Savannah's father.

Robert explained medical problems that Savannah had which required continuous treatment. He stated that every three to six months Savannah would visit a urologist in Birmingham. Urologists treat patients with urinary and bladder issues.

Found the answer to my question.

However, I can't find a live link to trial :( I'll search twitter and see if anyone is live tweeting (although we all know how that went during the Arias trial)

for any sleuthers born and raised above the mason dixon line, please know that this monster of a grandmother is the exception and not the rule of the graceful and charming south.....imo.....it appalls me that some (unfortunately including our own) paint southerners with a broad brush of ignorance.......

we don't all treat children with such cruelty, it's not the local flavor, we don't all live in such a vulgar and ignorant manner nor do we associate with meth users, we also don't find it fine and dandy to stand by and watch our neighbors abuse minors and not step in until it's too late as these neighbors seemed to do imo.....

"down here" in the south, we may talk slow, it doesn't mean we ARE slow.....

now i will sit on my wings and refrain from further "julia sugarbaker" rants.....

justice for this sweet child :rose:

I am sorry if I upset you QueenBee. No not all people in AL are child abusers, most are good people. I have wonderful friends who are great people in AL. The point I was making in my post is this type of abuse can be generational/cyclical for some families which is why I moved to another state almost 30 years ago because I chose to get away from that environment and didn't want my kids to be exposed to it. And just so you know, I reported that meth dealer! This type of generational/cyclical abuse doesn't just happen in AL, it can happen in any state! Heck, my son's HS baseball coach in NC ran him and the team for close to an hour in 98 degree heat without water because he was mad at them and I intervened and then reported him to the principal. Feel free to rant, we all do from time to time....

Justice for Savannah!

I don't think all southerners are ignorant. There are ignorant people all over this world. I think that southerners think that northerners think they're ignorant. I assure you that with everyone I know that's not true.

On 911 tape, Joyce Garrard can be heard saying "Give me a smoke" while waiting for medics for Savannah Hardin.

WilliamThornton @billineastala · 13m13 minutes ago

Jessica Hardin, the child's mother, talks to dispatchers on the 12 minute tape, played for the jury this morning.

WilliamThornton @billineastala · 13m13 minutes ago

But jurors could hear Garrard in the background repeating Savannah's name, over and over.

WilliamThornton @billineastala · 12m12 minutes ago

When the dispatcher was asked if anyone had ever asked "for a smoke" during a similar situation, she said she could t remember it happening.

WilliamThornton @billineastala · 12m12 minutes ago

Hardin was also asked if the child had any medical conditions. She said no to the dispatcher.

WilliamThornton @billineastala · 11m11 minutes ago

She did not mention any running Savannah may have done on the call.

No problem queenie! It probably did sound a bit jaded because of my own disfunctional family being from that area. But if I were a defense atty, I would definately look into the strict discipline/generational/cyclical aspect of their client. I think JG is guilty as all get out and what she did to Savannah was torture; however, it might reduce her sentence if you have one sympathetic juror. (like in JA trial) JG has the God given right to free will, she knew what she was doing to that baby! Justice for Savannah!

Hugs! MOO

One witness I didn't mention in my first update was the mother of the child who had the candy bars Savannah ate.

WilliamThornton @billineastala · 1m1 minute ago

She said she had called Joyce Garrard to tell her that Savannah had eaten the candy bars. About three candy bars, she said.

WilliamThornton @billineastala · 53s54 seconds ago

She checked the girl out of school for a trip. Joyce Garrard called her to find out more. It was obvious Savannah was in trouble, she said.
