http://wiat.com/2015/03/25/lawyers-allege-juror-misconduct-in-running-death-case/

another story summarizing this morning's actions in court, nothing new but does verify that defense claims ARE in reference to jurors defying the judge's admonitions regarding social media and/or news, etc.

however it does answer a question i had.........

we now are left with 2 alternates according to this article.........

Defense has called 9 witnesses, including a neuro psychologist who testified about Garrard's childhood.

WilliamThornton @billineastala · 3m3 minutes ago

She said Joyce grew up in a home where her grandmother encouraged the children to fight each other for her personal amusement.

WilliamThornton @billineastala · 3m3 minutes ago

That she was subjected to verbal, physical and sexual abuse from the age of 10.

WilliamThornton @billineastala · 3m3 minutes ago

She had a 9th grade education but is borderline intellectually disabled.

WilliamThornton @billineastala · 2m2 minutes ago

State brought up three times Joyce was written up in jail, including once for fighting another inmate.

WilliamThornton @billineastala · 2m2 minutes ago

One sister-in-law, a registered nurse, said she wouldn't think twice about letting Joyce watch her grandchildren.

Expert witness called admitted she talked to many family members but did not talk to Robert Hardin, Savannahs father.

Hi Y'all,

I've been so MIA for a few days... Keeping my grand baby!

I am so glad she was found guilty and I'm watching the tweeter feed now, seems the defense has their DR. "She had a bad life" speaking up for her now. The CMJG's life makes it sound like she deserves life instead of death. I have also read where her family members spoke for her.

I asked a reporter earlier, well, did she wipe her eyes for Savannah? Does Savannah get to celebrate anymore birthdays?

After keeping my grand baby, I just can't have any sympathy for her at all.

Many people have bad lives, they don't take it out on kids. In fact they strive to do so much more in loving children.

Robert Richardson ‏@RobertReport 20m20 minutes ago
But due to age & family support "very low likelihood of her engaging in serious violence while in custody of the Department of Corrections."

Robert Richardson ‏@RobertReport 19m19 minutes ago
Prosecutors asked about 3 disciplinary incidents in Etowah Co. jail including fighting an inmate. Dr. Walker said that is few for 36 months.

seems CMJG can't play well with others.......

Several testified to her rendering care, one woman saying Joyce nursed her back to health.

WilliamThornton @billineastala · 4m4 minutes ago

Most of the witnesses were blood relatives and in-laws, but they all said her image is flawed because she is a caring person.

WilliamThornton @billineastala · 7m7 minutes ago

Prosecutors have not asked many questions of defense witnesses. The most questions were aimed at the expert.

WilliamThornton @billineastala · 6m6 minutes ago

They did ask one woman about the bus video, which she had seen. She said it probably didn't tell the whole story.

WilliamThornton @billineastala · 5m5 minutes ago

Some witnesses said they knew Joyce loved Savannah. And Savannah loved Joyce, they said.

:dramaqueen:pfft!

i think she murdered savannah, plain and simple and had no regard for the suffering that child was going thru and THAT warrants the death penalty! It was atrocious and cruel and she was only 9 years old!!! :furious:

but at this point, i am grateful she can no longer touch another child :jail: and thank this jury for the minimum of LWOP if that's how it ends up :(

This doesn't say much, and was posted this morning....

Robert Richardson @RobertReport · 7h 7 hours ago
Defense for Joyce Hardin Garrard asks for dismissal of the case with prejudice and mistrial due to "widespread jury misconduct."

Robert Richardson @RobertReport · 7h 7 hours ago
Dani Bone: "Misconduct by jury is broad and rampant, and the court really has no way of telling how broad this has become." No specifics.

Robert Richardson @RobertReport · 7h 7 hours ago
Court removed one juror last week. Bone claims there are 4 more jurors who violated judge orders. Removal would take the jury from 15 to 11.

Robert Richardson @RobertReport · 7h 7 hours ago
Judge told jury daily to avoid news reports, and stay off social media. Judge took attorneys to chambers to discuss Bone's evidence & names.

Robert Richardson @RobertReport · 7h 7 hours ago
DA Jimmie Harp; "we find this out on the last day of trial? I don't see anything specific." Said questioning of one juror found no evidence.

Robert Richardson @RobertReport · 5h 5 hours ago
Attorneys and Garrard back in at 11:17. Waiting to find out judge's decision on defense motion for mistrial.

Robert Richardson @RobertReport · 5h 5 hours ago
Joycr Hardin Garrard sentencing will resume at 12:45. After 2+ hours of investigation, 1 juror dismissed. Now 12 + 2 alternates.

Robert Richardson @RobertReport · 4h 4 hours ago
Juror's dismissal was a result of a death in the family, not misconduct. Defense is about to present reasons for life in prison.

That's all he said about the jurors...that I can find

I read everything that Robert guy posted today, I could not believe how the defense was trying to make her sound like it was all her upbringing's fault.

I didn't want to confuse or step on what William reporter was posting, some of it's the same, here is the link to his tweeter if anyone wants to read what all he posted.

https://twitter.com/RobertReport

Heading over to Holly Bobo's thread, another lawyer this time for Dylan Adams is wanting the Prosecutor thrown in jail for contempt. See if anyone has posted it there yet.

Garrard made the the choice to punish Savannah until she dropped. Now she must pay her due. A lot of folks had a terrible upbringing and overcame that without killing their grandchild.
