How so moonriverfarm? I’ve seen a couple of interviews on MSM with the niece who seems to be spokesperson.

The family was not receptive to questions being asked, got argumentative on the FB page they started for the search, and basically asked to be left alone. No updates or answers to simple questions were given. The page was ultimately removed.

That does seems curious moonriverfarm. Immediately after Shari was reported missing the niece did several interviews with MSM stations and came across as concerned and caring (Exclusive interview: Niece of missing Virginia woman speaks out).

There are still a lot of questions unanswered or unreleased like was Shari captured on video at either gas stations at the intersection of 84 and 21? It was reported her cell phone pinged near that area. Is the cell phone traceable? Has the FBI completed their analysis of the car? Hopefully LE is withholding this information for investigation purposes.

As always this is my opinions only.

Bump for Shari

Perhaps LE has information they are not releasing to the public. It is just such an odd set of circumstances.

Bumping for Shari.

The longer she is missing makes me think LE knows more than they are releasing to the public. I would have hoped the FBI would have completed their analysis of the car by now with some additional information released.

Details of Disappearance
Saunders is from Norfolk, Virginia and was traveling to visit relatives in the Monroeville, Alabama area at the time of her disappearance a few minutes after 1:00 a.m. on August 5, 2018; this was her fourth trip to the area.

She was last seen getting gas at the Shell-Marathon gas station at Exit 93 on Interstate 65 in Evergreen, Alabama. She would normally call her family at that exit so they could meet her at the Minute Stop gas station at the intersection of U.S. Highway 84 and State Highway 21 at Ollie, but she never placed the call. She never arrived at her destination and has never been heard from again.

Surveillance footage of the gas station showed Saunders pulling into the parking lot just after 1:00 and going inside the station at 1:08. She prepaid the clerk $20 for gas, pumped the gas, and pulled out of the parking lot at 1:11, turning left and heading west on U.S. Highway 84 in the direction of Monroeville.

Her phone pinged off cellular towers in Repton and Ollie on west U.S. Highway 84. About an hour later, at 3:36 a.m., the phone pinged again behind the Yellow Hammer Travel Center at Exit 69 on Interstate 65, west of Brewton, which was not on Saunders's route. It's possible she became lost. She was reported missing on August 6.

A week after her disappearance, her car, a red Toyota Corolla with the Virginia license plate number WSL2565, was found stuck in the mud on a road three miles off the Range Road in a remote wooded area of southwestern Conecuh County, Alabama. The front passenger side window was broken and Saunders's personal belongings, including two suitcases, a tablet, a phone, a GPS device, a twelve-pack of Corona beer, and some snacks and candy, were all missing. There was no blood or other evidence of foul play, and no prints in the ground besides the car's own tire tracks.

Saunders's family doesn't believe she would have left of her own accord, and she was close to the sister she was on her way to visit. She has four daughters and is a devout Jehovah's Witness, and her family stated she doesn't have any health problems and wasn't taking any medication at the time of her disappearance. Her case remains unsolved.

Thanks for updating us @GuyfromCanada . Such a sad end but I guess I had expected it. All in all I'm glad that she has been found after all this time. I hope whoever did this to Shari has been sloppy and left behind enough to nail them with.

Authorities have identified skeletal remains found in Conecuh County along Canaan Church Road in December 2020 as Shari Saunders, who went missing in August 2018.

On Dec. 26, 2020, skeletal remains were found in a wooded area off a gated private road that intersects with Canaan Church Road. A forensic laboratory has now positively identified the remains as those of Saunders. Additional evidence is being evaluated by other forensic labs, and the Conecuh, Escambia, and Monroe county sheriff’s offices are focusing on particular suspects.

On Aug. 4, 2018, Saunders left Norfolk, Va., traveling to Monroeville, Ala., to visit with family. According to Evergreen Police, Saunders was last seen shortly after 1 a.m. on Aug. 5 when she stopped to get gas at Shell/Marathon station at Exit 93 on I-65. Saunders was listed as a missing person and entered into a nationwide database.
