I found this part interesting, for some reason.

(BBM)

“Winston County sheriff’s Chief Deputy Bryan Kirkpatrick on Monday said another hiker encountered Burgess at 10:57 a.m. Saturday. They chatted and even took a picture together before parting ways. But Burgess has not been seen or heard from since then.”

‘We’re exhausting every avenue’: Search continues for beloved pastor who disappeared during north Alabama hike

ETA: Disregard what I said above. I am not suspicious at all about this after reading the comments under the original link given by cybervampira.

So glad they found him! From your link

Winston County sheriff’s Chief Deputy Bryan Kirkpatrick said Burgess was found by a creek early Tuesday afternoon, not far from the falls. He had a little bit of food with him and had been drinking creek water to stay alive.

“He’s alive and well,’’ Kirkpatrick said.Authorities do not yet know if Burgess is injured but said he is too weak to make it out of the woods on his own. A helicopter has been brought in and is hovering over the spot where he was found.

Paramedics are trying to get a stretcher to him. “It will take about an hour,’’ he said.
