Judy Cole, a North Carolina writer, told the New York Police Department she recognized an image of herself among the photos. She was 19 when she met Alcala on New York's Upper West Side and agreed to pose for him on a rooftop, she said

This inplies to me, 1 photo, does it not? An image. Not photos.

It could simply mean that she recognized one...and then saw the others. This "identified" is a strange one given that she's come forward but hasn't been directly linked to any of the photographs.

she clearly sttes there was only ONE picture of her in alcalas collection
No, it doesn't. It states that she recognized herself in one of the images. It doesn't state what happened after that...Perhaps she then saw her herself in several other pictures?

I do think she looks like her and I agree, I can understand a certain need for discretion.

ok, here's how I see it.
Of all the photo's this one that is the blondish girl with hair splayed is about the only one I can see might be her.
But... I also think this is NOT the club girl.

ok... same link in previous post, i stasnd corrected "Judy Cole of North Carolina recognized herself in a group of photos taken by serial killer"

i think its the person remaining nameless that only had one pic.... news articles get jumbled to easy. sorry!

I disagree and think that the blondish girl whose hair is splayed is one and the same as the one in the series of photos taken at the Fivespot....

No idea if it is actually Judy Cole but I think that there's a possibility that it is.

I don't know where else to put this. I am so frustrated. I know police work hard, I know oftentimes put their own lives on the line, I know detectives can be quite clever, but lordy, what were they thinking when they put these photo's out!
No numbering in order to identify particular pictures and not removing identified people is just plain dumb and bad detective work to me.

The HPD and the NYPD photos are indeed numbered. Go to the Alcala picture links and you can find those threads. However, what I found really disturbing is that they are not the same numbers. So how in the heck does LE communicate with one another about the photos? One would think the would use the same numbers.

The photo itself should have been numbered so regardless of what site is showing it, in whatever order, there is a number associated with a photo itself. When downloading it etc... you would always have the same number for reference.

Please point me to this picture. I would like to look at it. I know there is one laying down that I would refer to her more as a blond, but she looks like she is on carpeting. The other laying down one has been identified already, but the articles about Ms C make it sound like this is newly identified just since the NY photo's came out.

Someone pointed out earlier one of the club girls photos.
I just want to state, she said ONE PHOTO, and she said rooftop. I am trying to find anything that looks remotely like a rooftop, and haven't found one yet.
Here you go.

Exactly what I was getting at. They should have created a consistent reference system.

This article is implying that Judy Cole is the young girl lying on the carpet as they posted that picture with her name under it.

http://www.aolnews.com/crime/articl...-serial-killer-rodney-alcalas-photos/19450712

That ain't no rooftop, it's the same carpet as the apartment pictures. Do you think she meant "rooftop apartment" and it was reported as rooftop?

The Daily News shows two photos. Right? I assumed one was Cole in her young days and one is of her now. The one on the left being now.

Then that AOL article the writer Knowles steers us towards the Daily News article. So, did he just pull out any old picture or was he told the girl on the carpet was Judy Cole?

Who knows with the media? She could have said "I was in his freaky arsed apartment and he was going to make me go up on the roof for more pictures" and the "journalist" put it as is.

Now I'm even more confused.

I am finding it really, really strange that I can find every other article that's in the April 19 People Magazine in their online search, but nothing about Alcala article that appears on pages 86 through 90 of that issue. I have no idea why that is, but I'm glad I got the issue when I did. I was going to try to blow up the jewelry pictures there to get a better look, but it's like it didn't even exist!
I tried looking it up under RA, The Title, "The Eye of a Killer" and even the authors. Nada, Zilch, very weird.

It is funny that you say that because when I first saw on here about the article, that is what I did. Did a lot of internet searches and found nothing, so went out and bought magazine.
